Tiger Woods is back and better than ever, with a healthy knee for once. He advanced to the second round of the Accenture Match Play Championships with a 3 and 2 win over Australian Brendan Jones. Who's next?
Former N.C. State golfer Tim Clark will have his shot at the world's number one player today in a second round match. The two will tee it up at 2:02 p.m. Woods is the defending champion of the event and has only lost three of his last 27 matches. He pummeled Clark 5 and 4 in this event in 2007.
Clark is arguably the best player to ever come out of N.C. State (Carl Pettersson would argue too). He was an All-American in each of the three seasons he played with the Wolfpack.
Though yet to win a PGA Tour event (3 European, 7 other), Clark has three top-three finishes in major tournaments. His best was a sole finish in second at the 2006 Masters.
Clark is currently ranked 33rd on the latest official World Golf Rankings.
