Duke's travels YouTube sensations

We’ve all heard it a million times, UNC and Duke get all the calls right? Well sometimes things happen that you just can’t ignore.
In Duke’s recent home game against Wake Forest, Duke’s Elliot Williams joined Greg Paulus as a YouTube sensation, just for a different reason. Williams caught the ball right in front of the Duke bench, and proceeded to move about 9 feet from where he caught the ball without taking a dribble.
It becomes more ridiculous the more you see it. On Saturday at Virginia Tech, Jon Scheyer decided he needed some YouTube love as well. With the Hokies down 3 with about 23 seconds left in the game Scheyer catches an inbounds pass at about the foul line at the Virginia Tech end of the floor. The Hokies trap, and Scheyer proceeds to spin his way about 9 feet towards the baseline, again without ever taking a dribble.
This was a blatant walk right in front of the official, who instead of calling a travel and the Hokies having a chance to tie and force overtime, is for some reason looking at Kyle Singler, who calls for a timeout while Scheyer is still dancing. Pitiful officiating at the most crucial part of the game.
One call does not necessarily sway the outcome of a game, let me make that clear. But these two travels are two of the most absurd I think I’ve ever seen, and will live in YouTube infamy.

dupontelizabeth, They sell better logic at the dollar store, dear. "...he travelled because he was getting hacked..." OMG, thank you for the laugh. You start off by telling the writer he's obviously NOT a Duke fan based on the tone of his comments, then tell him to be unbiased. He is beig unbiased. Calling it like it is.Again, "Hansbrough does it ALl the time, waa waa waaa." This is a article about Scheyer's blatant walk, not Tyler. You Dukies are so jealous, it's beginning to take on a whole personality of it's own. Comparing Scheyer to TH is just wishful thinking. Hansbrough is Reigning NPOY. What does Scheyer do again? Even your own coach doesn't kknow where he fits.
RE: Duke's travels YouTube sensations
this is not the most rediculious non dook call i have seen ...i remember when dook was playn clemson and it looked as if dook was going to lose refs added time to the clock after even having a chance to make the right call and lookn at the tv moniter ..the refs are a joke! when it comes to fair and bias officiating against dook ...FORGET ABOUT IT!!RE: Duke's travels YouTube sensations
That said, we ALL know how the refs bail out the dookies time and again. The moon walk the other night was the most obvious, other than the MD/dook semi a few years back.RE: Duke's travels YouTube sensations
I stand corrected!RE: Duke's travels YouTube sensations
Rickheel doesn't have a clue! Here it is: In NCAA and NFHS rules, there are two situations in which a five-second violation may occur. Five-second The five-second occurs when a player, while closely guarded, holds the ball for five seconds. A closely guarded situation occurs when a player with the ball in the frontcourt is continuously guarded by an opponent within 6 feet of the player in control.Evidently, the Dukies do have a clue!!
