While North Carolina monitors the status of Ty Lawson's toe, Duke is getting healthier. Guard Nolan Smith got in some light basketball work on Tuesday and according to a Duke official, "Things look promising for some action in Atlanta (for Smith)."
The Blue Devil sophomore hasn't played since February 25th because of a concussion he received after crashing into Maryland's Dave Neal.
Smith hasn't started since the Boston College game on February 15th but Duke could use his athleticism in the post season.
Duke and North Carolina are the only teams that won't be practicing on Wednesday in Atlanta. The Devils will fly in Thursday afternoon and play in Friday's nightcap against the winner of Boston College and Virginia.

The only reason that Lawson played on sunday and will play in this tournament is because he is ready to go to the NBA and doesn't want to miss any chances to impress scouts. If you think that he is risking injury because he wants to win for UNC you are sadly mistaken. Smith has a head injury and probably didn't even know his last name until sometime last week which is a whole lot more serious than a big toe. You can't take shots to get rid of a concussion like you can to relieve pain in your toe.
