North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson will need to practice some on Tuesday and all on Wednesday to play Thursday in the NCAA Tournament, UNC coach Roy Williams has said on a pair of radio shows.
Williams told former Georgetown coach John Thompson Sunday night, and Dan Patrick Monday morning, that he wants to see how Lawson practices before making a decision.
Lawson, a junior, is still bothered by a toe he jammed the Friday before the home win over Duke.

Sore toes don't cut it in the NBA for long. Time to suck it up Ty. I too am a Heels fan and the boys have said all year that this is the ultimate prize they are reaching for, so wrap that rascal up with tape, shoot it with cortizone or novicane, and let's get it on!

I don't think they'll need Lawson this week...give him another week to heal and get some practice time. Rushing it hurts him and will hurt the team in the long NCAA haul.

i would love to see ty play, but for the young mans future, i am sure roy will not do anything to mess up this kids future. i am probably one of the biggest tarheel fan around, but it would be greedy and selfish on all tarheel fans parts to play ty just to try and win a national championship. what if they get to the final four or even in earlier rounds and something happens that would end his career, sad day it would be.they need to make sure with everyone concerned that he is %100 or dont play him!just puttin my 2 cents in!!!!!!!!!!!!GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!!
