What's the one game in the sweet 16 that's so intriguing you can't miss one minute of it? It's not an easy question with the powerful teams that have moved on in the bracket. North Carolina takes on Gonzaga, Syracuse and Oklahoma could be great, and Missouri against Memphis should be entertaining.
The studio host for all of CBS' NCAA Tournament coverage, Greg Gumbel, sums his answer up succinctly. "It's Villanova-Duke," Gumbel said on 99.9 The Fan's Sports Lunch with Mike Maniscalco.
"If there is one to me that's more in doubt to me than all the others it's Villanova vs. Duke," Gumbel said. "If they both play to their potential I don't know who's going to come out the better team but I sure want to watch it."
Coach Mike Krzyzewski joined ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike earlier Monday on The Fan and he talked about how these teams are very similar in style of play.
"We're actually pretty similar in that we're more perimeter oriented (both of our teams)," Krzyzewski said.
They are centered around great guard play and a bulk of both team's scoring comes from that position. They are also similar in that they each have one solid 6-8 player that leads the team in scoring (or is within a couple tenths of a point from leading his team) with Dante Cunningham and Kyle Singler.
It's going to be a great game, but with all the one, two and three seeds advancing to the sweet 16 they are all sure to be good.
Shoot, Carolina fans would probably be more at ease knowing their game won't be a great one because that probably means a Tar Heels blowout win. We'll find out Thursday and Friday night.
