UNC's Lawson wins Cousy Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - North Carolina's Ty Lawson has been named the winner of this year's Bob Cousy Award as the nation's top pointguard, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Friday.
Lawson was chosen from a pool of over 80 top candidates and 17 finalists from NCAA Division I, II and III institutions across the country.
Lawson has averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 2 steals per game this season. He was the ACC Player of the Year, and the first point guard to win the award since Phil Ford in 1978.
