N.C. State falls to Virginia Tech, 38-10
Nov 21, 2009
5:57pm: It's officially a blowout in Blacksburg as Jarrett Boykin's 38-yard touchdown gives Virginia Tech a 38-10 lead.
5:31pm: Make it four for Williams, who apparently has no plans on taking it easy on the Pack today - 31-10 Hokies.
5:02pm: Ryan Williams punches in his third touchdown of the afternoon to push the Hokies' lead back to 14 with less than a minute to go in the first half.
4:49pm: Josh Czajkowski nails a 45-yard field goal to make it a seven point game at 17-10. Russell Wilson nearly cost his team a chance for three points by taking an intentional grounding penalty on third down, but Czajkowski bailed him out.
4:18pm: Ryan Williams scores his second TD of the day - this one on second and goal from just inside the one yard line. Williams had initially scored on the previous play, but the ruling was overturned when replay showed his knee was down before the ball had crossed the goal line.
4:04pm: The Wolfpack offense settles down, Russell Wilson with a touchdown pass to Owen Spencer. All things considered, State's not in bad shape down 10-7 after a disastrous start.
3:59pm: NC State offensive coordinator Dana Bible did not make the trip. He remained in Raleigh due to undisclosed health problems.
3:57pm: This is getting ridiculous. Toney Baker fumbles State's next play. This time, the Pack recovers... but that's three fumbles in State's first five offensive plays.
3:55pm: Ryan Williams in for a touchdown. The Hokies have had two scoring drives giftwrapped for them. It's 10-0 Tech.
3:46pm: Another Wolfpack turnover, this time a fumble by Darrell Davis. The Hokies again recover in great field position as State seems to be in self-destruct mode.
3:41pm: The Hokies convert with a field goal, it's quickly 3-0 Virginia Tech.
3:36pm: A Wolfpack turnover on the game's first play from scrimmage? Russell Wilson fumbles, and the Hokies recover in great field position.
3:34pm: Underway in Blacksburg
