Greensboro, N.C. — After recording an interception, 11 tackles and a half-sack, Duke senior Jordon Byas was named the ACC defensive back of the week.
Byas was part of a Blue Devils defense that forced four turnovers in a win over Wake Forest Saturday – their first in 13 tries. Prior to Saturday, the Demon Deacons had only committed two turnovers all year.
Six of the other seven weekly ACC awards went to either Florida State or Miami players.
Miami quarterback Stephen Morris set an ACC record with 566 passing yards in a 44-37 win over NC State. He averaged 21.8 yards per completion and racked up 5 TDs in the win. Morris has thrown for over 1,000 yards in the last two weeks alone.
Other ACC weekly winners were: Florida State OL Bryan Stork, DE Cornellius Carradine and kicker Dustin Hopkins; Miami LBs Gionni Paul and Eddie Johnson; and Boston College WR Alex Amidon.
