Doeren adds D coordinator with NC resume

Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina State University head football coach Dave Doeren announced the addition of a defensive coordinator to his staff Friday.

Dave Huxtable most recently served in that same role at the University of Pittsburgh, but he is familiar with the Triangle and ACC football from a stint coaching special teams and linebackers at the University of North Carolina.

"Dave is an ACC veteran coach with a great track record of fundamentally sound, tough, hard-nosed defenses," Doeren said. "He and I have similar defensive philosophies."

In addition to his three seasons at UNC (2001-03), Huxtable has logged time on the sideline at East Carolina University, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and the University of Central Florida among others.

"NC State is a program with tremendous potential, and I believe that under the leadership of Coach Doeren there are many exciting days ahead for the Wolfpack," Huxtable said.

How old are you??? Your comments and writing skills indicate that you are no more than 16. Perhaps you should regularly attend your classes, especially English class.

Really hoping to see Tenuta get the nod on this one. I'm not sure what years he was at UCF, GT, ECU Wisc. but as far as I can remember they have not really been known for their defenses. Guess we'll see. Gotta give him a chance. Go Pack!

Why is he hiring all of these yankees? Nothing good ever came out of a yankee... especially Illinois yankees.

Growing up here in the south, I hardly heard anyone call folks from up north yankees. We always referred to them as northerners. It made sense, since we're southerners.

I'll take a wait and see approach to how Doeren fills out his staff. We will see what NCSU football looks like by next October.
