Duke again gets late night tip

Posted March 25, 2013

The Duke University Blue Devils, winners late Sunday night over Creighton, will play a nightcap again in the Sweet 16. In the tip times released Monday by the NCAA, Duke's start against Michigan State is the second game of the evening in Indianapolis Friday. The estimated start time is 9:45 p.m.

The Blue Devils and Spartans are the second and third seeds respectively in the Midwest Region. The winner will know their next opponent before they take the court. No. 1 seed Louisville faces No. 12 Oregon in the 7:15 p.m. game in Indy.

Both games will air on WRAL-TV. Radio coverage of the Sweet Sixteen begins on 620 The Buzz. 99.9 The Fan will join the action in progress following coverage of The Carolina Hurricanes vs. The Toronto Maple Leafs.

620 The Buzz will air all of Duke University’s games in the NCAA Tournament in their entirety via the Duke/IMG Radio Network.

I'll probably do that. Go DUKE!!! Win this one and move on. Miami looks terrible in the 1st half tonight.

    Such great research you've done.

Duke made the Sweet 16 in 2006, and 2009-2011, winning it in 2010.

dook hasn't gotten to or past the Sweet 16 in the last 7 of 8 years, so why would you even expect them to reach the Final 4? Their season will end against the Spartans. Bet on it......I am!

Stop complaining. Wish my team were playing. My fault any team playing duke is my team. Wonder how many times some of you nerds have been up past ten playing video games?

Waaah Waaah Waaah...#1 Indy & #4 SYR play at 9:45 Thursday night!

This late-night stuff with the games is a major fault of the NCAA for allowing the television networks to dictate when a game can start. Why wouldn't you start the games featuring Arizona and Oregon later? Instead, those two teams' games will start before many of their fans on the West Coast can even get home from work, while East Coast teams won't tip until 10pm or maybe even later.

The hockey team still has a chance at a Natty :) I can't watch the NHL, but love college hockey.

Oh TBKr is a big Pack fan. I just give him a hard time over his avatar.

I pull for the Badgers because of friends I have that like them. Of all the B10 teams I like them the best. I do like Izzo and MSU basketball. Class acts.

He's a State fan. I'm the Badger. No real biggie, I don't get too upset about college basketball losses. They did better than expected this year and had some pretty good wins. I grew up a Badger fan, but in basketball I preferred Marquette, since back in the early Al McGuire era.
