Duke dominates Triangle football talk

Posted November 11, 2013

With a win this weekend over NC State, the Blue Devils are assured of a winning record – their first in decades – and continued their roll to the postseason.

David Cutcliffe deserves all the credit in the world for doing the work everyday, in recruiting, at practice and on the sideline on gameday. Duke has won with offense, with defense, with special teams.

It's real simple now for Duke: Beat Miami this week, root against Georgia Tech and you'll get your chance against Florida State, currently the No. 2-ranked team in the country.

Lets not talk about FSU just yet.
We have 1 game Miami win go to next. Game 2 WF win go to next. Game 3 UNC win
then we can talk about FSU.Granted as a Duke fan its been a good year so far.
But lets not put the horse ahead of the cart.Duke can win all 3 but if they do not play they can lose all 3.
    GO DUKE

DUKE will need to play better offensively against Miami, if not, it could get ugly.

    GO DEVILS

Boone will break out of his funk against Miami. Miami's coming off giving up 42 to VA Tech, one of the worst offenses in the country, and it was at home in a downpour. The way Duke's defense and special teams are playing, they should be able to hold Miami between 20-30 as the Miami offense is also struggling so they're gonna need to get back to the 30-40 point production (and not with 21 of those coming from pick-6's and KO returns to the house)...

I agree, with Sirk being injured. Boone won the job and Connette was in the mix at multiple spots. This offense with rotating Boone, Sirk and also using the wildcat with Connette would be nice. Duke is in a good spot with QB's, they have some depth and it shows; the redshirt guy Boehme looks really good too, if need be. Cutcliffe has some guys at QB; how many times can a team bring in their third QB and not really miss a beat?

Well he is coming off a broken collarbone..I still think he's the best option we have, he was named the starter for a reason.

  • DEVILS1 Nov 11, 2013

mid terms are over, I bet Cutcliffe and Roper are spending quality time with him this week. He is a good QB, but something has been off the last two games. I hope he gets it worked out.

  • rushbot Nov 11, 2013

i'm not sure boone is the man for qb.......

  • DEVILS1 Nov 11, 2013

I have read a lot about schedules on hear lately. Last year NC did not play FSU or Clemson and they lost to DUKE and WAKE; there was a third reason to, but I won't say it out loud

  • DEVILS1 Nov 11, 2013

This talk about DUKE in the ACC title game is cool to hear (if you don't like it, read other stories); BUT, GT has to loose to Clemson and DUKE has to beat Miami, Wake Forest and NC. That is a tough task with help needed, just neat to see they aren't 0-6 already like many times in recent memory. Whoever plays FSU in Charlotte better find a way to get run over slowly. It's probably going to be GT or VT which can pose problems for FSU with either the option draining offense or VT's defense. Whatever team from the coastal plays them needs to watch tape on how Stanford beat Oregon...

  • DEVILS1 Nov 11, 2013

A bigger lol would be seeing DUKE in Charlotte and not unc.
