Greenville, S.C. — The Duke Blue Devils may be relatively close to home in Greenville, S.C., to tip off the NCAA Tournament, but fans who traveled to follow them expect to hear more boos than cheers.
No. 2 seed Duke plays Friday at 7:20 p.m. against Troy (TBS / Buzz Sports Radio), and a win would see them face either South Carolina or Marquette.
"Everybody's always gunning for us, but that's what it takes to be at the top," said fan Kathleen Hobbs.
Carolina fans – both North and South – are expected to voice their animus against Duke.
"I think they play well in both games, so I think that it'll be alright," Brenda Miles.
One Duke fan even had to wait Thursday for an autograph from Tar Heel players that, she said, was for her UNC fan boyfriend.
