Duke's Jackson headed to Charleston

Duke women's basketball assistant coach Candice M. Jackson has accepted an offer to become the next head coach at College of Charleston.
Jackson, 31, was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Duke for three years under head coach Joanne P. McCallie. She worked mainly with the guards and was a part of the Blue Devils’ back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 2012 and 2013.
Jackson, who previously coached at Wake Forest and Richmond, helped Duke sign three-consecutive highly-ranked recruiting classes, including the No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2012. She is a former guard who played at Michigan State from 2000-04 and was McCallie’s first recruit in East Lansing.
“I’m just really excited for Candice,” McCallie said. “She has put in so much time and learning as an assistant coach. She has had great experiences at Richmond, Wake Forest and here at Duke. Being a former player of mine, and the very first recruit I had at Michigan State, I am very proud.”
