May and McCants are hurting that lie UNC fans still like to propagate, that UNC produces better NBA players than Duke.

Funny, I looked it up and Krispy Kreme May didnt hurt Duke at all. Duke did just fine when he was there.

May is eating pastries in France adn McCants is, well, we really have no idea.

Looks like a salary cap move to me. Warrick had 2 years left on his contract while McBob was in the last year of his contract.

Looks like McRoberts has a decent opportunity to get some playing time now.

Krcjlksal;khq;43dumbface4-8wfehsky simply does not like to lose white basketball players to the NBA. He's a racist at his core and does not believe in equality. Take a good look at his team.

Did you notice he had very little to say when Gerald Henderson left a year early? There's a reason for this. Gerald, Sr. was directing the show. "K" didn't want to get in Sr.'s grill. He knew Henderson possessed the ability to break him in half, thus leaving him for the funeral director to pack his orifices with cotton.

Let him keep spewing his garbage. One day, he'll run into the RIGHT ONE.

You know, well-known people in public should be careful. There was once a reporter with CBS News. I believe the queers name was Dan Rather. He based his career on insulting individuals, many who did not deserve it (sort of like "K"'s habits).

Rather was walking out of the studio one day in NY---was grabbed, taken in an alley and beaten within an inch of his miserable life. Let me say I would never do such a thing as this. This type of violence is very ugly and the perpetrator should be significantly punished. "K" should be careful. He has the attitude that he's God and no one can touch him.

Well, I'm here to tell you if it could happen to a wonderful kid such as Eve Carson, it can happen to anyone. Smart guys as "K" might get his some day. I sincerely hope not, but not all people recognize K as God. He's recognized as a great basketball coach and unfortunately, a "chester" racist.

OK, I'm with ya there. Some are saying that LA is looking to package either Bynum or Gasol with another player or two to get a big name...like Howard? Sounds like a stretch but stranger things have happened in the NBA.

Agreed. The offense should be very potent -- it is the defense that needs to be more consistent. Even with the sanctions/potential sanctions, the player recruiting will be strong -- but let's see how that d-coordinator recruiting plays out.

I am not a Carolina guy, but think the hiring of Fedora, while it provides an easy soundbyte for those who don't like Carolina (Larry Hat), was a very good hire. If he can get a solid defensive coordinator and become familiar with recruiting NC quickly to go with his offense, Carolina has a shot at being very good fairly shortly. I'm not sure how they'll do this coming year with the sanctions though.

Nope, last I heard he was playing in Europe. Hope his injury issues are over and that he enjoys a good, long career.

By the way, McBobs is so great in the NBA, the Pacers had no qualms in letting him go while keeping Tyler "Never Will Amount to Anything in the NBA" Hansbrough.

Definitely don't miss McRoberts at Duke. He was excellent as a 3rd option when we had Shelden and JJ Redick. Once he was "the guy", he became invisible. I remember his last season, we lost about 3 or 4 close games where we went to McRoberts in the post, only to let him pivot about 10 times and either throw up a brick hook, or travel. At his best, he was a little worse than lastyear's version of Mason Plumlee. I will say, though, McRoberts is a much better NBA player than Sean May. Is May even in the league anymore?

The Pacers are so excited with Hansbrough, they went out and signed David West.

With Hansbrough's improved play last year, Indiana had no reason to keep McRoberts. Funny that this excites you when the most excited Duke fans I know have ever been about McRoberts was when he decided to leave Durham.

In other words, the Lakers had no one, and McRoberts was the cheapest big body they could quickly sign.

    http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/7350525/source-los-angeles-lakers-agree-deal-josh-mcroberts

The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to terms with free agent forward Josh McRoberts, according to a league source.

McRoberts will sign a two-year deal worth approximately $6 million, according to the source.

McRoberts, 24, averaged 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game while shooting 54.7 percent from the floor for Indiana last season. He has career averages of 5.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 15.7 minutes per game while shooting 52.5 percent in four seasons with Indiana and Portland.

The signing is a far cry from the "big deal" that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said the team is pursuing, but it does address the need for frontcourt depth that became apparent when L.A. traded Lamar Odom to Dallas and opted against re-signing free agent big men Theo Ratliff and Joe Smith.

The Lakers' frontcourt void became even wider when second-year big man Derrick Caracter suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee at Monday's practice. At 6-foot-10, 240 pounds, McRoberts can play both the power forward and the center position.

The Lakers made use of their mini mid-level exception to sign McRoberts, a former Duke standout. A new provision in the recently ratified collective bargaining agreement, the mini mid-level is worth approximately $3.1 million a season (or $9.4 million over three years). It is the only contract available for NBA teams that have crossed the luxury tax threshold to offer to free agents, other than signing them to a veteran's minimum salary.
