#2 on the list recently got handed a 7-game suspension for inflicting a head injury to an opponent.

"The concussion suffered by James Harden demonstrates the danger posed by violent acts of this kind, particularly when they are directed at the head area," Stern said in a statement. "We remain committed to taking necessary measures to protect the safety of NBA players, including the imposition of appropriate penalties for players with a history of on-court altercations."

    Ain't that great???!!!

Two of the top 4 dirtiest in the NBA, Chris Paul (4) and Reggie Evans (1), just beat the Grizzlies on a 28-3 run to close the game out. Those dirty players sure can play some defense.

You are probably right. MJ has been known to get rid of the better players for the chitty ones.

Plus he is probably still mad about that game of H-O-R-S-E he got beat in.

  • kato_karma.01 Apr 27, 2012

Wrong. MJ would get rid of Hendergoon in favor of his UNC homey.

...probably what Hansbrough and his agent will be saying when they're negotiating his second contract.

Playing in Charlotte wouldn't help them though, they'd still be backups.

No need for him to come out of retirement. He mentored his replacement whose game resembles his. Sounds like they're calling Hansbrough a dirty player.

    http://pacerscenter.com/2012/03/21/with-jeff-fosters-retirement-the-pacers-have-a-dilemma-at-center/

While he started at times for the Indiana Pacers, this year he was expected to be the first big man off the bench. With his back issues nagging him throughout the year, Lou Amundson and Tyler Hansbrough, two players who resemble Jeff Foster's game, have had to pick up the slack and provide rebounding and defense off of the bench.

And because of the immensely positive implications of being called out for dirtiness by fellow NBA'ers, Jeff Foster can count on being asked to come out of retirement.

Great point. His inclusion on that list will probably get him some votes for NBA All-Defensive team. Thanks SI for that player poll.

Perhaps Hendergoon can also parlay being on SI's dirtiest player in the NBA list into some additional playing time. Nothing like being recognized by your peers...

Another great stat line in his final game of the year.

    7-12 FGs, 21 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast

Great first full season as a starter for G. Too bad the first 1 1/2 seasons of his career were wasted because Larry Brown was the coach and didn't give him any PT. Now that he's a full-time starter, the numbers will just keep getting better.

the team's +/- was -32, so gerald did better tonight than the team that mj was responsible for building.

6/12 from the field with 13 points. 3rd highest on the team despite being 11th in salary, not a bad night. one of the only bright spots for mj this season.

I doubt many dookies know what a +/- stat-line in a basketball game means.

    Having said that...

Hendergoon's +/- tonight in Charlotte's embarrassing beatdown at the hands of Chicago was -25.

    -25!!! As in NEGATIVE TWENTY-FIVE!

He sure means a lot to that team! LOL!

Maggette has been battling injuries all year long. If someone's injured, it's hard to expect them to produce.

Here is where MJ built the team around with their 2011-12 salary, with the exception of Maggette who spent most of the season injured.

    http://hoopshype.com/salaries/charlotte.htm

    Boris Diaw $9,000,000
    Tyrus Thomas $7,305,785
    DeSagana Diop $6,925,400
    Matt Carroll $3,900,000
    DJ Augustin $3,236,469
    Eduardo Najera $2,600,000
Reggie Williams $2,500,000 Kemba Walker $2,356,320 Gerald Henderson $2,250,600

As you can see, Gerald Henderson was the 11th highest paid player on the payroll of the team that MJ assembled. So he's actually one of the best producers per dollar spent on the whole team. Probably one of the reasons why MJ likes him, he's one of the only decisions MJ has made in his career as an executive that actually made sense.

No argument from me. Anyone who would put their franchise on the backs of the likes of Hendergoon and Phaggette should have his head examined! LOLROF

Luckily for MJ, most of the world knows him for them 6 "rangs" on his fingers instead of his front office work.

    Don't see that changin'.

You have made some dumb comments on here before, but this one takes the cake.

Here is Bill Simmons in an article earlier this week talking about the Bobcats and how awful they are:

"They could win one more game and still set the record (.121), but if they blow their last nine and finish 7-59, that drops them to an unfathomable (and record-setting) .108. Even better, that means Michael Jordan would have direct ties to the best regular-season team ever (the '96 Bulls) and the worst regular-season team ever (the '12 Bobcats). Stay classy, MJ."

"Did I mention that the most homicidally competitive athlete of our lifetime owns this franchise? What the hell? How can Michael Jordan live with himself? And how can we reward this putridity (is that even a word?) by giving them the 'Brow in two months?"

The only thing people will remember about this Bobcats team, is how indept of a basketball owner Michael Jordan is.

LMAO. May ate them out of business, rumor has it. Felton apparently ate his fair share too, judging by the GUT he now has. I'm still baffled as to how an NBA PG can have a gut? How does an NBA PG get fat? Too much "lounging" around with fat Sean May.

No one is saying to build around Henderson, just that he can be a really good starter at SF for the next 7 or 8 years. Build around Anthony Davis, if we get him.

But with MJ in charge, anything is possible. I'm still thinking he trades the #1 pick for a #5 and #12, then takes Barnes and Zeller-- almost identical to the 2006 draft when he traded down and took Felton and May..... worked out well, eh?

They aren't trading him until he's off his rookie pay scale. That's what cheap owners do. Ride the undervalued and rookie contracts as long as they can then unload their highest priced salaries when they don't get enough revenue at the gate to pay their max contracts like what they did with Gerald Wallace as soon as they knew it would cost too much to keep him happy.
