RE: Battier in the NBA Finals
Why is McAdoo even being discussed on a thread titled "Battier in the NBA Finals" ????
I didn't even know McAdoo was involved in the NBA, much less a 3rd assistant coach / towel cleaner or whatever he is.
Batter is STARTING and playing 40+ MPG.
Get that RING Shane!!!!!!

yes, get that ring Shane! You will be the third dookie to have an NBA championship ring! And in the proess break that long standing tie with Princeton and Rutgers for most NBA championship rings for a New Jersey school!
RE: Battier in the NBA Finals
Shane Battier commands the respect of the other players...
...
respect as in being voted one of the NBA's dirtiest players by his peers.

What percentage of the players voted for Battier? Did they survey every player in the league or was it a random subset of NBA players?
Don't answer, the poll and article was a joke....as is the troll who keeps bringing it back on his wild google chases.

Maybe because he is a Heat coach and has helped Battier find ways to stay on the roster.

Lebron and Wade told management to go sign him. That's why he's on the roster. McAdoo does nothing, After Spolestra, the only other person making decisions is Pat Riley. The rest of the staff is just there getting water and towels for the players.

McAdoo helped Battier "stay on the roster" ... really? Since when do 3rd-assistants make personnel decisions? Didn't Pat Riley and Miami go after Shane in the free agent market? I'm sure McAdoo had little or no influence of anything Shane has done this season.
RE: Battier in the NBA Finals
I agree. Bob Mcadoo was the man. No Duke player is even close!! Battier get some respect for being a good defensive player. But come on now he is know Rodman, or Bruce Bowen. Heck Scotty Pippen, was one of the best that I have SEEN!! We all know Bill Russell was the best!!

Sports Illustrated...joke?
Active peer vote...wild google chase?
Yup - just what you'd expect a dookie homer to say.
Especially when, not 1, but 2 dookies made the dirty list.
(we must not forget about Hendergoon)
Cudos to McAdoo
Cudos to McAdoo for convincing the Heat to take a chance on Battier. Not and easy thing to do given his eroding skills and wrinkly head (and dirty-player rep).

This fact has Duke fans searching for links as I type this! They put down McAdoo who is better than any player that they have ever produced in the NBA and say he is a worthless assistant. Once again, if you haven't won big during your career and brought home championships its probably hard to understand. His presence on the bench is as valuable as anything Battier does on the court guaranteed. Championships = Respect
RE: Battier in the NBA Finals
Championships = Respect
That's why you should have at least twice as much respect for Coach K than anyone who's ever coached at UNC.
