Yeah, 1988, I remember like it was 25 years ago. So, Magic Johnson, Kareem, Michael Cooper and a host of others didnt have anything to do with championship did they.

Oh, BTW, the current crop of potential UNC players werent even in their daddys sack in 1988.

How about a UNC player that has led an NBA team to a championship in the last 12 years, since 2000.

None. But quite a few have helped lead Duke and K to 4 NC's. You know, 2 more than all those NBA players helped lead Dean and UNC too.

That is all I care about. Duke doesnt have a team in the NBA, although K has done quite well with the Olympics and the players love him.

Poor baby! I'm sorry that Duke didn't have quality players around during the late 80's. Why is that? Wasn't K coaching then? At the end of the day who LEADS a team to a championship is a matter of opinion. Since Duke comes up a little SHORT in the NBA Championship department then your opinion really doesn't matter!

Also, "The Jet" Kenny Smith was the point guard for the back to back Houston Rockets. Teams with some quality talent and a big time HOF player, Smith was a great floor general. Wouldn't have won it without him!

By the way........better than any player Duke has EVER put in the pros!

larry, here is what I read.

yada yada yada yada, blah, blah, blah, UNC, NBA.

With your recent epic failures and the SBI investigation and the AA scandal and everything else going on at UNC I would deflect and live in the past also.

I will say it again, the NBA means nothing to me as a Duke fan except for the FACT that Duke has the most players in the NBA right now earning the most $$'s. Which is what recruits look at.

BTW, what year was Kenny in the NBA. So long ago that I cant seem to reember of care.

BTW part deux. Recruits are watching Battier RIGHT NOW in the Finals. RIGHT NOW. Not on VHS from the 80's in thier VCR's.
