Which is worse, UNC football scandal or Duke hospital killing at least a dozen patients with fake research?
Just wondering if most ABC'ers are as crazy as I think they are:

The National Institute of Medicine blames Duke University for lapses in oversight leading to the scandal surrounding flawed cancer research.
The nearly 300-page report from the National Institute of Medicine says Duke failed "to ensure the integrity and rigor of the scientific process."
The report also recommends procedures that Duke and other medical institutions should have in place to ensure the credibility of research in the future.
Dr. Gilbert Omenn, chair of the Institute of Medicine, says research integrity and the safety of patients should always be the priority.
"It is a requirement that an institution as a whole... [is] avoiding, or at least managing well, conflicts of financial interests and other kinds of conflicts of interests like building reputation, getting awards and recognition," Omenn said.
In a statement, Duke responded to the report saying, "We welcome the opportunity to incorporate the recommendations from this report with our on-going efforts to strengthen the rigor of our research."
The trials in question were first made public in 2006 when Duke Medicine's News and Communications Office released a public statement saying the model developed by Duke researchers, including Potti, have "promising results" and have "initiated a landmark multi-center clinical trial."
The trials, conducted at Duke between 2007 and 2010, assigned patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer to treatments based on now-discredited gene expression patterns that Potti and his mentor, Dr. Joseph Nevins, claimed they had identified in tumor cells.
Nearly a dozen cancer patients and the families of those patients who are no longer living have filed a lawsuit against Duke University, Duke University Health System, administrators, researchers and physicians alleging that they knew or should have known about Potti's questionable research.

Easy answer. the organization that does nothing but turn the other way when they get busted is worse. Duke fired the employee that was solely responsible for the scandal at the hospital. UNC didn't fire all of their employees and even kept paying some of them.

Oh, so dook only killed people, but they cooperated, so everything is good. But those mean old Tar Heels, now that is a different matter! They had football players cheat! And according to dook fans, they didn't cooperate. Now that cannot be forgiven! Killing cancer patients is okay as long as you are nice about it. But cheating when you are a football player! Hang them all!! Glad to see you dookies have your values straight.
