Quinn Cook

Quinn Cook

http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8198679/duke-blue-devils-point-guard-quinn-cook-players-become-stars-expanded-roles-ncb

here are three part-timers from last season who are most likely to become household names in 2012-13:

1. Quinn Cook, Duke Blue Devils

Cook appears to be the surest bet to go from bench player to household name. Limited to 12 minutes per game by eventual lottery pick Austin Rivers, he posted an offensive rating of 118 while using a healthy 21 percent of Duke's possessions. He also assisted on 32 percent of his teammates baskets (in an assist-averse offense, mind you) and his ridiculously low turnover rate suggests he spent his high school years studying video of Jordan Taylor.

Cook's production occurred despite his 3-point shooting: He made just a quarter of his 56 attempts last season. Here's guessing he improves that as a sophomore. To go from 12 minutes a game to All-American would be unusual, but in Cook's case, it's not unthinkable.

RE: Quinn Cook

I THINK HE WILL BE BETTER AND I SEE HIM GETTING ABOUT 20 MIN A GAME BUT I HOPE HIS PLAY DEMANDS MORE TIME OUT THERE. TYLER IS SUCH A LEADER THAT IT WILL BE HARD TO GET HIM OUT OF LATE GAME SITUATIONS. IT IS A GOOD PROBLEM TO HAVE. I HOPE THEY RUN LIKE HECK AND NEED TO SPELL EACH OTHER.

RE: Quinn Cook

Cook/Marshal/Murphy stepping in
Curry/Kelly/Mason taking it up to higher level
Tyler the glue holding it all together
that alone will keep Duke in the NCAA top 5 and 1 in the ACC

Then The New Guys Suit UP!!!!

It's going to be a very good season!

RE: Quinn Cook

Well now, when that dang granny said those guys were good last year and shouldn't have lost to Lehigh, my friend Jordan Paulette said she was lying. So are they good now, but were no good when they played Lehigh?

RE: Quinn Cook

they were just good when they tore your heart out in chapel hill

Sorry my firend. I don't think there is a Tar Heel alive who believes dook actually beat UNC in Chapel Hill. So, there is not one shred of heartache over soemthing the players and coaches have no control over. We saw the game. We saw the calls at the end of the game (and the lack of). Only a blind man would think that it was dook who actually won that game. That was about as crooked a job of officiating as I've seen in my 65 years. But, I'm not at all surprised at dook being given a game by the refs. It's happened frequently over the years. Ask Arizona fans.

Makes sense. The refs are instructed by the ACC or NCAA to give Duke wins over Zona, UNC and UK. But they don't fix the game when Duke plays Lehigh. Typical dumb UNC fan.
