Why can't Alex seem to get much time? I expected him to be fighting for a starting position this year. I hope Coach K has plans to run a 8 or 9 man rotation so these guys stay positive and productive when we do need them.

I think Hairston and Thornton are probably fighting harder right now because they don't want to give up their playing time to younger players. The other player that needs to become a full time starter is Cook. It wouldn't surprise me if Coach K is determining playing time based on effort in practice and he's holding the young guys back some now to send them a message. It's only two games in but I like what I've seen so far from Hairston and Thornton. But I know their best chance in March is to get Murphy and Jefferson involved and especially for Cook to become the primary PG.

Give it some time...only 2 games into the season. My guess is K was going with the players with experience under their belts for the Kentucky Game. Murphy and Jefferson have nearly NO experience in tough games, whereas those who did play (except Rasheed 6 rebounds/10 points/5 assists/0 turnovers)have been "through the mill."

There is enough talent there for 2 real strong teams. I say run one team wide open for 3 minutes then rotate and run in the second team. by the time the second half starts the other team will have their tongues hanging out. It should be a cake walk.
