But rap artists' affinity for the sport reached a new level earlier this week.
Duke's Rasheed Sulaimon claims that rapper (Kentucky fan?) Lil Wayne, who sat courtside during the No. 9 Blue Devils' 75-68 victory over the No. 3 Wildcats Tuesday, swore at him during the game.
After the win, Sulaimon tweeted: 'Still a @LilTunechi fan but was shook when he cursed me out court side lol. Where the duke love at slime.'
Really? A multiplatinum artist going at a freshman in a college game? What, Pusha T was unavailable, so he had to start a beef with a teenager? Sulaimon was impressive in stretches during Duke's win in ESPN's 24-Hour Tip Off Marathon. The freshman finished with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. But he was 3-for-14 from the field. Still, the performance on the big stage justified the buzz that preceded the arrival of the former McDonald's All-American. Lil Wayne's alleged remarks, however, did little for his street cred. I just hope the incident doesn't inspire imitators. The last thing college basketball needs is a Spike Lee wannabe taunting players from the front row. But perhaps that's inevitable. I'm pretty sure he wasn't hiney hurt that the POS cursed at him. Sorta surprised a so called celebrity would stoop so low. But what do you expect coming from Lil Wayne, the self proclaimed UNC fan. Trash atracts trash I guess.

Coaches curse. Never had one that didn't have the mouth of a sailor. So maybe the language K or any other coach uses during the game or practice just isn't a big deal to me. But I would be like "wth?" also if someone as famous as that clown was verbally attacking me for no reason from the stands.
