Knowing how to play within the ACCEPTED RULES is just plain smart. Until taking a charge is removed from the game (which will be never) it WILL be a part of the Duke Defense and Duuke will continue to reap the rewards for playing the game as it is. For those who find this difficult to swallow, there was a time when players COULD NO TOUCH other players and dunks were illegal.
Everyone knows this. Rarely are charges flops. A blocking foul is called a plurality of the time. An offensive foul is less likely to be called. Most fouls are "sold."
