Ryan Kelly: Shane Battier is my flopping hero
http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/caliparis-allegations-duke-basketball-flopping-putIn an interview before the season, Duke senior forward Ryan Kelly said he tries to model his game after Battiers more than anybody elses. Kelly, who showed his commitment to charges, taking one in a fastbreak drill during the teams open practice at the beginning of the year, also brushed off the bum flop rap.
You get hit in the chest and tell me how it feels. It doesnt feel good when you get bowled over, Kelly said in October. The block-charge is one of the toughest calls to make in basketball, but Im going to keep taking them if it helps our team win.
Nice in theory Ryan. It is one thing to hold your ground and get bowled over by a player committing a legit charge. It is quite another to fall down as the air currents change or to collapse when shooting the ball and the defender a foot or more away from you.
