The only problem with your prediction is that alot of teams get better as the season goes along. If Duke runs into Louisville, OSU, Kentucky, VCU or even Minnesota in March or April, Duke beating them in November won't be an incidicator of what would happen in the rematch.

Since more than likely Duke will be a 1 or 2 seed , if or when they lose in the NCAA tourney it would more than likely be to a lower seed.

Just as he did with his kids college education funding, Kato can't seem to think through scenarios prior to making stupid statements.

IU and a host of other teams that can play well. Also, Duke is subject to have off nights(see Lehigh).

Hopefully that reference to the past will satisfy the fans that are not participating in this season.

    So rotary...

Futuristic predictions are typically based on past performance (history).

As such, dook has established a trend of flaming out in the Sour 16 or earlier.

That said, kato forecasts that a lower seed will, again, put dook out of the big dance.

    It follows instructions well!

The thread headline is about the future there 3rd person...

"this season" in the title headline(referenced by you) is not "all about history."

His trolling, along with yours is all about history(Like UNC being snubbed by the big boy's tournament in 2009). I am with you on the whole avoiding this season though. It's been so long since Duke has been to the NIT that you will have to live with sympathy. Thanks for the 7 out of 8 update, too bad that 1 is a Championship, the most recent in the ACC might I add. No worries, you concentrate on the past while Duke looks to future. The whole post season thing must have hurt your feelings, don't worry as I doubt UNC will bump into Duke in the post season.

Please proceed with more history. Do not talk about this season. Don't you dare talk about anything that is not last season or beyond.

dookie history of being knocked out of the NCAA tourney...

at the Sour 16 or earlier...

which happens to CURRENTLY stand at 7 out of the most recent 8 seasons.

Sure. Duke won it all in 2010 so we are not that far removed from advancing past the sweet 16 as you would suggest. Thank you for stating that you believe Duke should advance past the sweet 16. We appreciate the confidence. When we start missing the NCAA tournament, then I will start to show some concern. Now, UNC fan, please proceed to avoid talking about this year and attempt to give us a history lesson. We are all very interested.

Funny, you Holes used to brag about DES making the Sweet Sixteen. Now, if a Duke team loses in the Sweet Sixteen it is a negative.

humm. Yup, very relevant to your post.

Let us know the next time dook does not get knocked off in the Sour 16 or earlier...

And then let us know when they do that (avoid flameout) two years in a row.

  • VT1994Hokie Dec 13, 2012

I would bet a few that Duke will reach the Final 8. IF they do this, they could surprise a few teams then. Never count them out when they have such a strong start in this early season. Indy is the only team in front of them at the present time frame. They have played stronger teams than anyone. I only write this for the novice readers/writers.

UNC has some chemistry issues that are showing up right now. It takes time to over-come issues with personalities. Roy isn't that patient; folks. It could become difficult if they don't win a bunch before January.

If dook has hurt UNC lately in the post season, then these guys have absolutely demoralized the boodevils in the Sour 16 or earlier: Lehigh, Arizona, Villanova, UVA, Va Commonwealth, LSU, MSU.

Once again, The Flagship will be left to carry the ACC Banner by themselves, a position they are not un-used to. (See 2012 after Lee said "Hi".)

I am disappointed. Even though you are a dookie, I thought you had a better understanding of the NCAA tournament.

"Though the brackets only feature the seed numbers 1-16 in each region, the committee assembles an S-curve of teams seeded from 1-64. In theory, the teams 1-4 on the seed list will all be #1 seeds (the #1 "seed line"), 5-8 will be #2 seeds (the #2 seed line), and so on"

What's funniest about this post is that the OP spends 24x7 trying to convince everyone that Duke hasn't done anything because everyone they beat is overrated, but then makes the assumption that Duke is going to roll thru the next 2 1/2 months and be one of the Top 4 seeds in the bracket.

If UNC makes the tournament at a #16 seed they will have improved alot so they might just pull off the upset. I think the NIT is a more realistic goal for Roys Boys this year though.

No 16th seed will knock Duke out this year. Duke is a solid top final 4-8 team right now. If they stay healthy, they could surprise a bunch. Coach K will never repeat what they did last season in the opening round. It probably burns in him often. No coach has done what K has done to date in winning. No one.
