Yet, you haven't named the ex UNCheat player besides Jordan or the ex Roy UNCheat player.

  • kato_karma3.4 Feb 17, 2014
    Towel Boy

    yawn...

kato's story has remained consistent -- no dookie-homer on this forum has the fortitude to name the top 1 or 2 or 3 ex-dookies that have made the most significant mark(s) in the NBA.

So what you are saying is that you're changing your story now that the inconsistencies are stripped bare for all to see? Understandable.

Again, for clarity, which are you stating now? That Antawn made a mark in the NBA despite not winning a championship. Or are you saying that all those Hall of Fame guys didn't make a mark in the NBA because they didn't win a championship?

You are just sad. But thanks for proving my point. You will never respond to simple question because we can then identify the UNCheat players who have never made a mark. Or even have a discussion.

    bogey, bogey, bogey...

you should spend more time accumulating data that supports an ex-dook player having made a significant mark in the NBA instead of making up any kato "rules".

kato was just putting something out there, because bogey would not (nor would any other dookie-homer). For example, ikho, Grant Hill (multiple All-Star and strong HOF candidate) is top of the dookie list -- but he never won a NBA championship.

    what say ye???

I just want to make sure we all understand this first because according to your rules, the roughly 20 NBA Hall of Fame players I just listed did not make a mark in the NBA because they did not win a championship but Antawn Jamison - a guy who only made the All-Star game twice and has no chance of making the HOF - did make a mark in the NBA despite not winning a championship.

That is what you were saying isn't it?

  • kato_karma3.4 Feb 17, 2014
    Towel Boy

actually, dear bogey, you and dook have gotten nowhere, when it comes to making a significant mark in the NBA...

but feel free to throw a name out there.

See, now we're getting somewhere. And somewhere took us to the spot where Kato is claiming players like Chris Mullin, Dave Bing, Nate Thurmond, Bernard King, Adrian Dantley, Artis Gilmore, Bob Lanier, Alex English, Pistol Pete, George Gervin, Dominque Wilkins, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, and Elgin Baylor didn't make a mark in the NBA.

The one thing those guys share in common is that they all didn't win an NBA championship. Sorry... they have two things in common. They're also all in the NBA Hall of Fame despite not making a mark in the league by the Kato Standard.

It does get confusing especially since earlier we heard that Antawn Jamison had made a mark in the NBA but he hasn't won a title.

  • kato_karma3.4 Feb 17, 2014
    Towel Boy

interesting...all that bog(us) research and regurgitation on this here sports blog, and he can't even present a single case for an ex-dookie making a significant mark in the the League.

that said, common sense rules out players that have not won at least 1 championship and definitely eliminates any that have not smelled a playoff.

helpful hint: that leaves Mullins, Ferry, and Wrinklehead...which explains the reluctance for dear bogey (or any other dookie-homer) to put a name out there.

Observer 1: But what do you mean by leaving a real mark?
Observer 2: Well, I'm not really going to define "leaving a real mark" because then people can actually construct a response.
Observer 1: But you have to admit that the weekend was much better for Duke than UNC what with Irving winning the MVP award.
Observer 2: Big deal, we had Harrison Barnes being honored by being in the dunk competition.
Observer 1: You know he was widely criticized for having the 5 worst dunks in the entire competition and his participation looks like it was all tied into a promotion for NBA 2K14.
Observer 2: Shut up, he's building his brand. Plus we had PJ honored by being in the NBDL 3. Pt. Shot contest, something that Seth Curry wasn't selected for.
Observer 1: Yeah, PJ went out in the first round in a competition won by Kyle Singler's little brother and Seth played in the actual NBDL All-Star game. Observer 2: Well Harrison had 16 points in the Rising Stars Challenge game. Observer 1: That was the game where Mason Plumlee had 20. Observer 2: Big deal, UNC's put out plenty of All-Star MVP's. Observer 1: The last one left UNC 30 years ago. Observer 2: We still put out better pros. Observer 1: You know Kyrie scored more points than all Tar Heels combined in the last 9 All-Star games in total? Observer 2: That's a trick. UNC hasn't had anyone in the game in the last 6 years. Observer 1: Sorta the point... Observer 2: Still no real mark like Antawn and Vince. Observer 1: How did they make their mark? Observer 2: Still no real mark. Observer 1: Define making a mark. Observer 2: lather, rinse, repeat...

    Poor Austin Rivers:
    http://sportige.com/nba-rumors-new-orleans-pelicans-trying-to-trade-austin-rivers-02-11-2014/

One of the bigger draft disappointments from the last couple of seasons is Austin Rivers, as the New Orleans Pelicans are making it known they’d be quite happy with any kind of trade offering for the player who just isn’t working out for them.

Rivers had an awful rookie season (6.2 points, 37.2% from the field) and things haven’t gotten much better this year. His PER has almost doubled and he is scoring 6.1 points while his minutes dropped by more than a third, but his shooting hasn’t improved, hitting 38.4% of his shots and his True Shooting and Effective field goal numbers only slightly increasing.

He’s been getting more minutes over the last few games (almost 20 a night in January and February) because the Pelicans are now in sale mode, and are trying to parade him around so someone will try to sign him. According to Steve Kyler of BasketballInsiders.com, there’s an agreement in place all season to move him if playing time and opportunity did not become available.

The Pelicans won’t be picky for what they get in return.
