AR will be a legit NBAer. It just takes time for someone so young to make the adjustment. He can surely adjust though, just ask T. Zeller. He still wakes up at night hearing that awful swishing sound.

Funny how you cherry picked and left out his 3 point performance with 3 T/O's last night:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/austin-rivers-miss-4-6-weeks-broken-hand-004900435--nba.htmlThe New Orleans Hornets lost more than a huge lead on Wednesday, March 6. The Hornets' epic collapse against the Los Angeles Lakers also came with the loss of rookie G Austin Rivers for four to six weeks. Rivers broke a bone in his hand in a collision with New Orleans teammate Greivis Vasquez.

Whatever the Hornets did to upset the balance of Karma came back on them with a vengeance Wednesday night. Besides the fact that Rivers had been playing much better of late, he was also having perhaps his best game of the season for New Orleans. Before leaving with his broken hand, Austin Rivers had 10 points on 5-6 shooting in the first half versus the Lakers.

The irony that Rivers could miss the rest of the season with an injury incurred by another Hornet

Despite complaints from both fans and the media, Hornets head coach Monty Williams has never wavered in his faith in Austin Rivers. Of course, since New Orleans selected him with the 10th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Hornets have to put him on the floor to have him both earn his pay and improve with on-the-job training.
Rivers had consistently received solid minutes off the bench for New Orleans and he was a spot starter for Eric Gordon on the second night of back-to-back games. Since mid-February, Austin Rivers was defending much better and passing with more confidence. He had also regained faith in his jump shot.

However, four to six weeks off nursing his broken hand may effectively end the rookie's season prematurely. The good news about this injury is that it's not the dreaded knee or ankle condition. An injury below the waste can be devastating for an NBA player, given how much running and jumping they do. Austin Rivers is a young man and his broken hand should heal quickly in time for him to work out and improve his game during the offseason.

When the New Orleans Hornets become the Pelicans in 2013-14, Austin Rivers should be a major part of the team and he should suffer no ill effects from his broken hand.

Maybe Rivers is growing up and maturing since the early season. He's proving something by putting up these numbers. The key is to continue to grow mentally and up his overall game.

http://www.atthehive.com/2013/7/12/4518830/NBA-Summer-League-Austin-Rivers-Pelicans-Beat-KnicksAustin Rivers had a breakout Summer League performance in the Pelicans' first-ever game, making 24 points on 15 shots, nabbing 7 boards and dishing 6 assists. He started off strong, making several hard drives to the basket in the early going, but he really seemed to gain confidence in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. When he had the ball in his hands, he was looking to drive to the basket, and neither Tim Hardaway, Jr. nor Iman Shumpert were able to keep him from getting to the paint. In addition, Rivers was rather efficient on his jumpers, knocking down several long-range looks. And, incredibly, he had only two turnovers, even though he constantly had the ball in his hands.

    Rivers had no charges...

    but did commit 2 turnovers.

Given his ball dominance (i.e., dribble-dribble-dribble-dribble-dribble-dribble-dribble-drib
ble-shoot), 2 is probably something worth getting a least a little excited about if you are a fan of his game.

http://www.digtriad.com/sports/article/302707/13/Former-Duke-Star-Earns-3rd-Year-With-NBAs-PelicansMETAIRIE, La. - The New Orleans Pelicans have exercised third-year options on the contracts of 2012 first-round draft choices Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers.

Davis, the first overall pick in the 2012 draft, averaged 13.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.2 steals and was named an NBA All-Rookie First Team member last season.

The 6-foot-10 former Kentucky star was a regular starter at powerforward. His 20 double-doubles led all rookies.

Rivers was the 10th overall pick in the draft. He averaged 6.2 points, 2.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds, but saw his rookie campaign cut short by a hand injury in early March, during a game in which he'd scored 10 first-half points against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pelicans announced the moves, which were expected, on Wednesday.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/clippers/2015/10/29/austin-rivers-seat-cushion-hit-fan-nba-investigating-clippers/74815170/The NBA is investigating an incident on Wednesday night in which Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers threw a seat cushion that flew into the stands and hit a fan at Sleep Train Arena in the fourth quarter of a game against the Sacramento Kings, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation.

The situation caused a stir among Kings fans on hand, as the woman who was hit by the cushion in the second row was clearly experiencing discomfort in her eyes for quite some time after the incident.

http://clipperholics.com/2016/04/01/clippers-thunder-austin-rivers-scores-career-high-32-points/His 32 points and seven three-pointers were both career-highs, leading the Clippers’ offense all game long with Jamal Crawford who had a great game himself with 32 points.

It was Rivers’ sudden burst of accuracy that kept the game close and gave the Clippers a lead for much of the night, right until a late 9-2 run to close the game edged the Thunder past to win 119-117. With 12-of-19 shooting, Rivers was at his best, largely relying on his 7-of-9 three-point shooting to make an impact rather than finding more success with drives as he typically does.
