Yep, the original post was facts regarding Duke's history related to being ranked #1 in the country. The trolling started on the first reply.

It was copy pasta from OP. Not my own. I have not confirmed any of that information. I simply wanted him to know that this topic didn't start with jabs at UNC.

So 3rd person will feel better; #1 at losing to lower seeds in the Sweet 16. *If this stat is true*

    Good stuff, rotary.

However, you forgot to list that dook IS #1...

at losing to lower seeds in the Sour 16 or earlier.

uke has been ranked No. 1 123 weeks - second-most in NCAA history behind UCLA (134).

Coach K has led the Blue Devils to the top spot in the AP poll 105 weeks.

Duke has spent 92 weeks ranked No. 1 since 1990 - 40 more weeks than the next closest school (North Carolina) in that span.

Duke has been ranked No. 1 in the AP poll in an NCAA-record 16 seasons under Coach K.

Including Wednesday's game, Duke has played more games at No. 1 (210) than as an unranked team (141) under Coach K.

Duke has now been ranked No. 1 in either the AP or Coaches polls in 18 of the last 28 seasons.

Entering Wednesday's game, Coach K is second in NCAA history in wins (183) and games (209) while on the sideline for the No. 1 team in the AP poll.

Duke has been ranked No. 1 in 11 seasons since the 1997-98 campaign. The Blue Devils have been ranked No. 1 68 weeks in that span, 31 more than the next closest school (North Carolina).

This is all about Duke. The UNC fans could not resist.

Dont worry brackett, things like facts only get in their way. When we rebuild were still in the top ten, when they rebuild they miss the tourney completely.

Duke just won a NT 3 seasons ago. Duke lost 2 players from last season to the NBA draft (both were starters). Duke currently has more active NBA players than UNC.

  • BeastOnTheHill Dec 17, 2012
    Sports Legend

UNC sent 4 players to the pro's, all picked within the top 17. this is what happens when you recruit players who have NBA potential and they are coached to improve and develop. Take a look a Kentucky. dook flames out in the first round of the NCAA's, has the whole team back. Teams that are successful end up having to replace and rebuild.
The flame out's will have good teams consistently and always flame out consistently.

You're countering facts about Duke being a #1 seed in the tournament with facts about Duke being ranked #1 in the national rankings. That = FAIL.

  • DooksucksV3 Dec 17, 2012
