So in the case of UK, all that matters is where they're ranked now but in the case of Minnesota, it only matters where they were ranked when they played?

UNC starts their conference schedule with a game at UVA, home against Miami, @ Fla ST, and home against Maryland. UNC could win those first two and work their way back into the polls in a week or so. The biggest question for the Heels isn't whether they will get back into the polls, but whether or not Huckleberry will stay for the entire game when they go to Florida State. (No child left behind)

The problem with UNC getting back into the polls is that none of those first 4 opponents are ranked. They will be favored against all of them and even if they win those road games, the pollsters won't give them much credit since they are supposed to be better than those opponents too. They can get back in if they win and get help from those teams in the 20-25 range losing games they aren't supposed to. But based on where the ACC is right now, the only way they can get back in for sure is a win over State or Duke.
