Well, there needs to be something to look forward to until next November, cause it sure ain't football. Well, wait a minute, there is that "other" favorite team I guess. LOL

+1....Had to laugh at those barking about the demise of Tiger. He lacked focus due to the personal stuff in the past. Seems to be back on track at this point.

If you're gonna try to compare the Yankees with the Braves, you really have no understanding as to how this all works. The Luxury Tax Titans clearly have a financial advantage & always have.
Schmidt - more holes in his swing than a truckload of donuts.
Yankees - Deep pockets, major advantage over 90% of the league. On paper, they should win it every year.
Braves - If guys like Justice had spent more time playing versus worrying about how loud the fans were, his playoff BA of .224 (lol) & his Ks - 79 (terrible) would have looked much better. With all of those Ks, Slo Mo brought a smile to the face of Swing & Miss.

You take Chip and his one ring. I wonder how many errors has he made. Schmidt was a homerun hitter. Brooks was the best on D. Brett was also the man. I thought all owners had money? If you spend it right you can build a team. Nobody wanted Gooden, Strawberry, Paul Oneal, Chuck Knoblauch, Scott Brouis, Charlie Hayes, etc.. The Knicks are worth a billion, and how many rings have they won? Same with the skins, and Cowgirls and havent done squat lately. The yanks won because of the players they drafted, Jeter, Riveria, Posada, Bernie, Cano, Pettite, El Duque, Wells, etc.. These guys produce in the playoffs unlike the choke artist called the Braves. the Buffalo Bills of baseball!

(btw, kato went to the new Braves stadium in its opening season...very nice fan-focused park)

How many times have the Yankees had the highest payroll? How many players have the Yankees signed from other organizations over the years? (Going back to the days of GS) The system is set up for them to win the Series every season. Talk about choking! Brooks Robinson didn't hit consistently enough to be considered the greatest, great on D but only hit .267 for his career (average). Schmidt was a .267 hitter as well & K'd 1,883 times, not to mention the fact he was a no-show in the playoffs. He hit a lot of HRs but he is no Brett. Brett actually had more extra base hits than Captain K. In 8 different series, Smitty batted .236, .220 in 2 WS appearances...TERRIBLE!!!
Brett did it all, .305 career BA, over 3,000 hits, 3 batting titles, almost batted .400 once, WS champion. Easily the best 3b of all-time. I laugh when people compare Mike Swing & Miss Schmidt with Brett. The evidence says George Yankee Killer Brett was the greatest 3B ever. I'll go with Captain Clutch, who batted .337 in 9 different series played, .373 in 2 WS. I would put Chipper & Boggs ahead of the two you mentioned. Hey, remember when Teardrops Schmidt got off to a poor start in 1989, called it a career on May 29 of that year? Brett would never have quit like that.

Highest payroll doenst always win just ask the Cowgirls, knicks, and skins over the years. Tell the Braves thanks for Justice, and Sheffield, and Texeria! Hey yall want A-Rod? Didnt want himin the first place.

And dont forget Ship tell them not to choke! What was is 14 straight Divison titles, and won the WS only once? The great pitching was all you use to hear. My yanks spanked there rear ends twice in the WS! Mike Schmitt, or Brooks will go down as the best.

Yep....Chipper is my favorite Brave all-time & arguably the 2nd best 3rd baseman all-time (Only SH in MLB history to retire with a .300 BA & over 400 bombs - out of approx. 18,000 to play the game). Have to give that nod to my favorite all-time player, George Brett. Enjoy your trip to ATL, Larry...Turner Field is awesome. The Braves look to be very good on paper, just need to avoid injuries & play up to their capabilities.
