RE: Jason Williams New York Times feature
Two titles, Williams, and Lawson. Take Lawson off that UNC team, and Handstravel would have 0 titles. Take GH, or CL off those teams, and there would be zero titles for Duke in 91, and 92. J Williams on that team, and would have been 3 straight for Duke. But really they both are Champs. Hurley played 4 years also.

LOL....Let's deal with reality, shall we? Certain players played, and won, NTs. Hurley has
2 & that's a fact. You should ID the number of PGs in ACC history who won back-to-back NTs. I get a kick out of those who say things like, "If they didn't have this player or that player, they wouldn't have won." Let's stay with the facts.
You can dig on Hansbrough all you like but I have a question for you. Which former ACC player can claim both #1 scorer all-time in the ACC & a NT? Is what it is. Just an fyi....if Lawson doesn't have Hansbrough, he doesn't win a NT either. Works both ways!
You're the guy who always likes to talk about championships when evaluating great players. Ya can't start changing the rules at this point.
RE: Jason Williams New York Times feature
Randolph Childress set an ACC record in the ACC Tourney from Wake Forest in scoring back in the day. He's working at Wake today. I forgot to mention him earlier. He should be in the mix too.

+1...forgot about him. The ACC has had its share of great PGs/players. There have been many individual players who put up great numbers but only a select few can claim NTs. Naturally, they should get first dibs on "the greatest" list. Just looking at the entire body of work. Something else. If a player only played 1 season, he shouldn't get serious consideration. IMO
RE: Jason Williams New York Times feature
King Rice would have dominated all of the aforementioned.

Who is that?

Don't we have a holiday in his honor?

Not sure but I heard they named a university after him in Texas.

Before there was a King James...
there was King Rice.

So true Ship the rings are what counts the most!! King Rice did give Hurley fits. I really thought he was going to cry a couple of times! No one can argue Handstravel's stats in college, but alot of greats in the ACC didnt stay four years either, Worthy, Jordan, Bias, Williams etc..
Lawson
But we all have to agree about Lawson, when he went out with the toe injury, and came back UNC would probably not have won it in 09. Dude is tearing up the NBA right now.
Hurley > rice

Rice did play Hurley tough but I do believe Hurley got the last laugh.

Agree with ya on that. Lawson was UNC's Sergeant Hulka. Great player!
