Duke - harsh words for Maryland

Earlier this week, Krzyzewski told ESPN's Andy Katz that the Blue Devils wouldn't schedule the Terps once Maryland jumps to the Big Ten in 2014. Here's what he said during his postgame press conference Saturday:
We don't look at rivalries. We look at each opponent the same. I've said that every time I've come here. I have a great deal of respect for Maryland. If it was such a rivalry they'd still be in the ACC. Obviously they don't think it's that important, or they wouldn't be in the Big Ten. I respect their basketball program and the job their coaches have done and their players have done over the years. We've had some great games with them, but we have great games against a lot of people. A lot of people want to beat us, and they're one of them.

And now, here's McCallie from her Twitter account, about two hours ago. The first was a retweet, for what it's worth. Another has since been deleted from her account but read, "What would all these venues do without Duke basketball? Sell fewer tickets, have less to dream about, & just melt away into oblivion. GoDuke."

Sounds more like 2 arrogant aholes to me.

As if playing duke is a major reason for staying in the ACC over the
millions more $$ they`ll get in the big ten.

Whether the Rat schedules Md or not, he may (and likely will) have to face them in the ACC/Big 10 challenge......would love that to be scheduled the first year Md moves to the Big 10. Sounds like the Rat has a little Napolean complex going on, as usual, LOL.

Duke will always get the Big Ten's top teams in the challenge. Ohio State or Michigan State or an occasional Indiana or Michigan. Maryland will be matched up against the ACC's second tier which is more likely to be UNC next season.

The #1 team in the country played who this year? That's right - UNC. In 14 years, dook has drawn the higher ranked team 7 times, and Carolina has drawn the higher ranked team 7 times. I guess you were wrong - as always.

You don't play teams in any given year, you play a team, so you're clearly referring to multiple years. Across multiple years, you play the top team as often as UNC plays the top team.

You don't play teams in any given year, you play a team, so you're clearly referring to multiple years. Across multiple years, you play the top team as often as UNC plays the top team.

I said "Duke will always get the Big Ten's top teams". They don't always get the top team because they generally don't want the same Big Ten team playing the same ACC team in back-to-back years or 3 years in a row. So it isn't always the Big Ten's best against the ACC's best. Sometimes it's the Big Ten's best against UNC or Maryland.
