Duke is much better defensively without Kelly so I don't buy this "We miss Kelly" stuff. This is ACC play people..... they lost 3 games without Kelly and they would have lost multiple games with him in the lineup.

Your basketball IQ is equal to you number of posts on here. Kelly pulled defenders and re bounders away from around Mason. Further increasing his ability to score and rebound and creating passing/driving lanes for our guards. Duke is still trying to adjust to playing without him. Duke needs Kelly to make a legitimate run for a NT. He is not our savior. Kelly is one of our 3 best players, a senior and a very, very good 3 point shooter. Now, go play with the other little children and let the big kids finish their discussion.

Duke's scheduling was out of whack. No one plays this number of games without resting a little. Mason had 4 points. Nah. This doesn't happen.

I'm not worried about Duke. They will keep playing close games and Kelly will return in time to get tuned up for the tourney.

I will not make any excuses for VT in having 7 on a scholarship either Battling. 7. What would Duke be doing with 7? What would any team do with 7? So. You see my point about Erick Green? He has as much heart or more than any player in the ACC that I've see in years. Larkin can look like an All American with his supporting cast. Curry has won games for Duke, and Duke has a supporing cast too. There is no one in front of Green. Forget about winning a Championship. I look at the heart of a player. I'll take Green in front of Curry and all other PG's. That's my best. I'm pulling for Duke to beat Miami. To heck with Miami. I don't give a darn about these culls.

I get where you're coming from. Some teams are faced with certain disadvantages. That doesn't mean they can't overcome 'em but it can be very difficult. It's not possible to lead the ACC in scoring and not have skills. Green is one of the most talented players in the league. He just needs a little help from his friends.

^^^ That's what I've been writing on here Battling. You wrote that a team should have a winning season to have a POY. That's not right. VT, WF, GT, and the losers can't change a darn thing right now with what they have with players and walk-ons. VT has walk-ons playing minutes.

Gonna have to disagree with you, Hokie. You can always find good players around the league who are playing for average teams. Green is a fantastic player but VT is currently in last place. Just depends on how you view things, I guess. I think POY/MVP awards should be given to those who lead their teams to titles or, at the very least, put their respective teams in the hunt for championships. IMHO, it's a disservice to the consistent winners to do it any other way. As I posted earlier, he should be first-team All-ACC, not POY. In fact, I think it comes down to Plumlee & Larkin when all is said & done.
