Kyrie was great for those 11 games lol. I'll always ask "what if" about that 2011 team.

Let's cut my buddy, cuss some slack, he's alright. He's not like markie, cojo, glowy, & the juan. He's just having a little fun, the others are just asinine nincompoops.

but experts are talking about the best high school pg they have seen......Kyrie didn't get hot until late, but he was nasty his senior year.

Kyrie was an awesome college pg.......for 11 games :)

I know you're butthurt because this thread was intended to be a place for Duke fans to talk about the incoming recruiting class and you're here trying to bait someone to guarantee a national championship when everyone knows the only people stupid enough to do that are UNC fans circa October 2011.

Tyre is one of the best point guards in the NBA, but I'm not so sure he was a great college point guard.

I don't know why you would think my butthurts because of anything said on this thread. This is a place we come to discuss sports. Some come here to hurl insults and their hate for the other teams. You seem to be one of those.

some experts quickly forget about Irving.

Oh yeah, and Coach K is HEAVILY involved with the top-2 players in 2014, PG Tyus Jones and C Jahlil Okafor. They have said publicly they are a package deal. Duke and Kentucky are the rumored favorites.

I've heard numerous recruiting experts refer to Tyus Jones as the best high school PG they've seen since Chris Paul.

Definitely! Looking forward to the next 5 years with this crop of guys we have. I don't see many of them leaving early, either. Parker and Hood will be gone after next year most likely, but everyone else should stay.

Amile has to gain weight/strength, develop a jump shot. Sulaimon seems like a kid that will stay at least 3 years. Cook is a 4-year guy. Murphy and MP3 will stay and develop. Jones will have to battle for PT early, so he'll stay for a while. Parker will start immediately, as well as Hood, and probably both leave after 1yr (Hood will actually have been in college 3 years at that point). Hairston, Thornton obviously 4-year guys. Ojeleye may surprise us all, he has NBA size/athleticism and a tremendous work ethic. He will not start next year but his toughness and defense will get him minutes.

    Future is BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT!!

We'll go ahead and pencil you in as butthurt. This year and many years to come are currently and will be enjoyable for Duke fans.

If he could add a solid post player, the only thing left would be making cabinet space for the next trophy. ;)
So, Mo, can I go ahead and quote you on a National Championship for Duke? With all that talent and the best coach in the ncaa, then there should be no reason why Duke shouldn't win it all.

  • BlueDevils00 Feb 20, 2013

No one is ever a lock for national champions. You can quote me that Duke will open the 2013-14 season as Favorites, though.

Yeah I agree, Coach K could definitely use another Center. But, MP3 will be a sophomore and 3-year starter. Hopefully he stays healthy.

With Cook, Sulaimon, Hood and Parker starting alongside MP3, all he needs to do is play defense and rebound. He doesn't need to score a single point most games for us to be at our best, which should take pressure of him.

Yall shouldn't lose a game next year. If you add Hood, it would be the best recruiting class. Coach K is the best recruiter in the NCAA.

I am more anxious to see Semi play....he is a smart kid who can score and jump out the gym.
Adding Hood, Parker, Jones, and Ojeleye.....losing Curry, Plumlee, Kelly.

Possibly adding Dawkins back as well. Duke will be running up and down the court next year. You will see a ton of small lineups.

Jabari Parker and Matt Jones were both selected to the McDonalds All American game and the Jordan Brand Classic. Semi, despite being 5-star and ranked ahead of 4-5 guys in each game, was snubbed.

Coach K worked his magic on the recruiting trail again this past season, landing 3 top-25 recruits. All three kids are 5-star players according to ESPN and Scout.com. Jabari Parker is certainly the crown jewel, once dubbed "The best high school player since Lebron" by Sports Illustrated. Matt Jones is the best shooter Duke has signed since JJ Redick (yes, better than Andre Dawkins or Seth Curry), with legit size for a SG at 6'5". Semi Ojeleye is averaging over 40PPG in Ottawa, Kansas. Yes, 40 POINTS PER GAME! Semi is an athletic freak at 6'6" with a 44 inch vertical and the physique of a linebacker.

Not to mention, all 3 of these fellas are extremely intelligent, both on and off the court. Typical Duke players. You can tell Coach K hand-selected these boys.
