Plumlee named academic All-American by COSIDA

The first-team members are Ohio State's Aaron Craft (Academic All-American of the Year), Duke's Mason Plumlee, Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk, Indiana's Cody Zeller and Brown's Matthew Sullivan.

Ben Averkamp (Loyola Chicago), Matthew Dellavedova (Saint Mary's), Nathan Healy (Appalachian State), Peyton Siva (Louisville) and Andrew Smith (Butler) make up the second team, and White is joined on the third team by Jordan Hulls (Indiana), Mike Muscala (Bucknell), Marc Trasolini (Santa Clara) and Mathias Ward (Montana).

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on his team.

too bad he couldn't muster "Academic All American of the Year" like his DADDY Tyler Zeller did last year for the Taproot.

Funny, if he is so darn smart then why can he not speak one single word in Swahili? Not too impressive to me. All our athletes automatically get a 3.5 without even attending a single class.

too bad UNC doesn't have anyone in its current rotation or in its recruiting class that look like someone that can even be called a student-athlete.
