You would be incorrect....I'm older than you think. Besides Carl Tacy was the HC @ WF thru the mid 80's. You must be a novice ACC/ State of NC historian.

Ok, Ok...Wake Forest is the only ACC school/member in the Triad.

Once you go any further west in NC than Charlotte you would be surprised at the # of Tenn. fans.

Actually there's a huge contingent of UNC fans in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Salisbury, Hickory, Charlotte, Asheville....pretty much any other of NC's larger metropolitan areas are going to be crawling with fans of The Taproot.

Besides that, yes...Hokie simply doesn't understand the whole Triad/Triangle thing.

We've tried, but it just won't take LOL

Four more games to play folks. Larkin may score above 13. Curry could light it up anytime. Leslie may even show up and shoot the lights out too. I'll put my money on Duke vs Miami. I'll put my money on Green with his disamal team vs the top people in the running for 1st team All ACC. [u]No one can say that the top team should have anyone over Erick Green. He's worked too hard for this one.

  • VT1994Hokie Feb 25, 2013
    Sports Legend

Erick Green is playing on the last place team in the ACC. No one player this year has made opposing coaches put 2-3 players on him on defense. None.

Erick is the most unselfish player that I've seen in years in the ACC. He passes the ball to get his team-mates involved early in the game when he should be shooting. The W-L records causes some to pause a little. Why? Look at his stats.

MPG-36.3. FG's. .475. 3 Point. .375. FT's. .824. Rebounds. 4.1. Points scored. 681. Average. 25.2. Is there a bias? Erick may not win too many accolodes this year while playing on a weak team, but no one can beat him with heart. None. Am I biased? Darn right I am. Let's not forget now, this is a Triad Forum isn't it?

You'll see it this year unless Govenor Martin gets to pick the team. Reggie Bullock is maybe a second team at best.

Wow Ken D that would be something. Still think CJL, and Brown will make it. Still alot of ball left.

  • Ken D. Feb 25, 2013

I think Devin Thomas of Wake gets some ROY votes.

And I agree Howell should have a spot on the team. I could see him getting the nod over either Green or Curry. There won't be much difference in talent this year between the first and second team. Lot of good players, few great ones.

Depending on which players declare, it's possible State could have as many as four players drafted and none on the first team all-conference. What are the odds of that?

  • Toddler10-21 Feb 25, 2013
    Sports Legend

Its a shame with all of CJL's talent that he probably wont be on this first team. Its still along way to go. No way Howell can be left off this team. Brown???

All-star team? Let's see, how about Squirrel, Big Mike, Forty, Preacher and myself (3D), all from right here at the trailer park in Durham. We could whoop any of those college boys you'd run out there. 'course, we play on a nine foot rim. it was almost ten or so until that strong wind storm came through 'bout 3 years ago.
