    ^How sad this is?^

"Everybody else lose so maybe hopefully we can possibly eke out a higher seed than we deservemaybe???!"

    The dook Way.

Loss by #4 Michigan last night. This week alone, #1, #4, #7 and #11 have all lost. Great news for Duke and our chances at the #1 overall seed.

    Agree...

being rated so high this late in the season...

dook has got to be legit.

I definitely see a Final Four for this years team, but in reality, i see a national championship.

I believe that they will make it. I surely hope they will continue onward to improve like they have recently. The shooting and passing has been on target.

Poor DS, same old tired posts, day after day, month after month. Yet nothing happens.

  • seedofdoubt Feb 26, 2013

Duke, with just 3 L's, has a much better chance than most teams, including the ones struggling to get 20 wins, uncertain if they will even get invited. "If we win just two more and have a good showing in the ACCT, we'll be in." How sad to have your hopes pinned to just getting in. Thing you "want-ta-play-too's don't understand is that Duke plays very, very well on neutral courts (note the beginning of the season when you all were making comments about how Duke was playing so many games that way) Duke will be in the final four. K has them ready.

Because of Carolinas greatness it was child's play! No mid-majors as I recall!

So when is the NCAA gonna bust duke? If they don't need to talk to the jeweler or lance, it should've already happened, right?

Hate to say it but UNC rolled through the field that year. I went to bed with ten minutes left in the first half. Didnt they just demolish Mich St. in the State of Michigan that year in the finals?

So if Duke was a "paper champion" in 2010, then UNC was a "tissue champion" in 2009.

This year is very similar to 2010, and we all know what happened that year. Another national title for Duke!!

Actually...the later/longer dook remains (over)ranked, the higher the expectations.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves -- them getting past a couple of NCAAT rounds will be a bonus (given their flameout track record).

  • BlueDevils00 Feb 26, 2013
    Sports Legend

It's possible, but remember, NC State was the preseason ACC favorite and ranked #6 nationally. Duke started at #8 i believe? maybe even lower. So in short, no, Duke was not expected to win the national title this season. Coach K has done a great job and the team is performing very well. This year's tourney is up the air, about 15 teams could win it, Duke being one of them.

    Mehh...

the week in and week out over-ratedness is eerily similar to the prior dookie season.

Anything less than a national championship would be a major choke. dook was undefeated with kelly and would still be undefeated if he had not been injured. Everyone knows that dook would have won the title last year if kelly had not been injured.

  • uncsuckz Feb 26, 2013

Not sure any ACC team has the horses to make it that far. Duke (with a healthy Kelly) and Miami are the best bets. State is too inconsistent to advance in a single-elimination tourney. unc? Weakness at the point guard position. Virginia? Early foul trouble on any starter would doom them.
I see the Big Ten advancing. Louisville, Florida as well. There will always be a surprise team in the FF but I just don't see it being Gonzaga. Could be Butler. They beat Indiana and Gonzaga!
