    http://www.netsdaily.com/2013/12/14/5210094/as-shooting-contines-to-hit-shots-mason-plumlee-continues-in-rookie

As he continues to hit shots, Mason Plumlee continues in rookie top 10

Here's a great stat. Mason Plumlee is shooting 85.7 percent from the floor ... and the foul line this month. The first is quite impressive, the second is stunning.

At Duke, Plumlee shot 58.3 percent over four years, rising to 68.1 percent his senior year. Earlier this season, he was a liability at the line, hitting only 42.1 percent of his free throws through the first seven games of his NBA career. Since then, he's taken off. After the dreadful start, he's shot 72.1 percent and made nine straight over four games.

Overall, the No. 22 pick is shooting 70.7 percent from the floor and is up to 62.9 percent at the line. The first leads all rookies. He's second in player efficiency among rookies as well.

His shooting is one reason why he's in the Rookie Top Ten as ranked by David Thorpe of ESPN, who has him at No. 2 and Chris Bernucca of Sheridan Hoops and just outside the list that Drew Packham composes for NBA.com

That's a nice little list. I mean it's not exactly Kyrie Irving (21.5p/6a), Luol Deng (19.6p/7r),Gerald Henderson (14.7p/4.7r), JJ Redick (16p), Carlos Boozer (15p/9r), Mike Dunleavy (10.6p/4.7r), and yes... Miles Plumlee (9.7p/9r/1.8b).

BTW - Danny Green is averaging 7.6p and 3r this year. Maybe I should have included Josh McRoberts on the Duke list.

    sorry, boogerboy...

still a loooooooong ways for any of those active dookies to get on equal career footing as the likes of active UNC'ers Jamison and Carter.

  • BogeyBoy Dec 26, 2013
    Sports Legend

hehehehe... you said booger. You must be the funniest guy on the playground at recess with that kind of wit. Not surprising though since that's the sort of thing that you need to resort to when Duke players are sooooo much better in the pros than what UNC's been churning out.

As for Jamison and Carter - they were great back in the day. That day was several years ago though and the fact that you need to point to them just shows how far UNC has fallen in terms of putting out pros. You're way behind Duke in terms of player production this year and the gap will only get wider next year.

You have a wonderful history. It's your now that's not so great.
