Here's a modest hint for you... Duke fans don't speak with a homogeneous voice. If you want to debate the standard of using rings as a measure of relevance with me please do so with my statements, not others.

In any event it's probably safer ground for you than discussing how, when looking at the players that both schools have put in the league in the post-Dean era:

    40 pt. games - Duke 8, UNC 0
    NBA ROY - Duke 2, UNC 0
    All-Star Selections - Duke 7, UNC 0

Of all the players both schools currently have in the league:

5 out of the top 6 leading scorers are Dukies.
4 out of the top 5 leading rebounders are Dukies.
3 out of the top 5 leading assist men are Dukies.
Fantasy league points generated (based off actual stats) - Duke 7563.1, UNC 5833.3 (updated to show the widening gap)

K has never produced a stud at the pro level that could take his team to the promised land. The best hope for K and the very desperate Duke nation is Kyrie Irving.......and lets face it, K didn't have time to screw him up since he only played 11 games at Duke. That's actually kind of funny.....the best player ever for Duke barely even played their!!

Bottom line......no competition between the two programs all time in the NBA! Next........

Yes, it works to tell you that counting championship rings is a poor measure of the quality of play for a player. Rank the players - Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Adam Morrison, and Karl Malone... remember Adam's got two rings!!!

By every meaningful measure Duke has better players in the pros right now than UNC. By every meaningful measure the gap is even bigger when you look at players in the post-Dean era.

BTW - Kyrie dropped 40 last night for the second time this season. He did it twice the year before as well. Boozer did it once in both the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Brand did it in 2006. Deng dropped 40 in a game in 2011.

No UNC player joining the league since the 1999-2000 season has scored 40 points in a game.

    Duke - 8
    UNC - 0

Yep, you have one more player in the NBA than Duke right now. But the Duke players are infinitely more productive.

Fantasy league points generated by Duke players(based on actual game production) - 7493.30

Fantasy league points generated by UNC players (based on actual game production) - 5746.40

    http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/tobaccoroad

And that's with JJ Redick, the fourth leading scorer amongst UNC and Duke alums in the pros missing the last month.

It's fun watching you squirm around trying to shape your argument to hide the fact that Duke players are so much more productive than UNC's.

He spent four seasons as team manager of the Blue Devils men’s basketball team and was named the head team manager during his senior year. Over that four-year span, Arison became the only team manager in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history to be a part of four straight ACC Championships and was a manager for Duke’s 2001 NCAA National Championship team.

are you joking or just not bright? Without Battier, the Heat probably don't win the finals last year...

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/21/shane-battier-miami-heat-game-7-three_n_3476431.html

Battier made a postseason, career-high six three-point field goals as he scored 18.

"The guy has won at every single level - high school, college, pro and that's not a coincidence. He has something running through those veins that separates him, makes him a little bit different as a champion."

It was a Battier three, early in the third quarter that gave Miami a four-point cushion, setting the tone for the second half and igniting the crowd and another of his trademark long-range baskets that made it 88-82.

Dwyane Wade, who claimed his third NBA championship with Miami, having been part of the 2006 title-winning team, said Battier's display epitomised the way in which the Heat's supporting cast had made a key contribution.

"In Game Six it was Ray Allen with the big shot and obviously last year Mike Miller had an unbelievable performance," he said.

"Shane was unconscious. He's just a big-time player. You want that for Shane so bad.

"He is going to go down as one of my favourite team-mates of all time just by being the guy that he is.

"And we needed it. We needed every inch of what everybody gave".

You may wish to believe it's all about Kyrie Irving and he's certainly the best player in the league out of either school. But it's deeper than that. After Lawson you don't have another player averaging over 12.7 ppg in the league this year. Meanwhile Duke has Redick, Henderson, Deng, and Boozer. So out of the alumni both schools have put in the league 5 of the top 6 scorers are Dukies.

When it comes to rebounding Plumlee1 and Boozer are both ahead of Henson followed by Deng and McRoberts. So out of the alumni both schools have put in the league 4 out of the top 5 are Dukies.

In assists it's Lawson, Irving, Felton, McRoberts, and Deng so Duke has 3 out of the top 5.

Stick with the name calling... anything beyond that and you're just embarrassing yourself.

hehehehe... you said booger. You must be the funniest guy on the playground at recess with that kind of wit. Not surprising though since that's the sort of thing that you need to resort to when Duke players are sooooo much better in the pros than what UNC's been churning out.

As for Jamison and Carter - they were great back in the day. That day was several years ago though and the fact that you need to point to them just shows how far UNC has fallen in terms of putting out pros. You're way behind Duke in terms of player production this year and the gap will only get wider next year.

As he continues to hit shots, Mason Plumlee continues in rookie top 10

Here's a great stat. Mason Plumlee is shooting 85.7 percent from the floor ... and the foul line this month. The first is quite impressive, the second is stunning.

At Duke, Plumlee shot 58.3 percent over four years, rising to 68.1 percent his senior year. Earlier this season, he was a liability at the line, hitting only 42.1 percent of his free throws through the first seven games of his NBA career. Since then, he's taken off. After the dreadful start, he's shot 72.1 percent and made nine straight over four games.

Overall, the No. 22 pick is shooting 70.7 percent from the floor and is up to 62.9 percent at the line. The first leads all rookies. He's second in player efficiency among rookies as well.

His shooting is one reason why he's in the Rookie Top Ten as ranked by David Thorpe of ESPN, who has him at No. 2 and Chris Bernucca of Sheridan Hoops and just outside the list that Drew Packham composes for NBA.com
