    Duke by 15

Parker shows the national TV audience why he is better than Wiggins.
    Hood has a monster game.

UNC fans cling to the hope that somehow there is a weakness exposed. There isn't. At least not one bad enough to slow them down.

Kansas only has Wiggins. They are over ranked. Dook is probably better than KU and Kentucky at this point.

They are always the best team in November.........K keeps his veterans and the other young teams are still learning and getting better..........and then by March they usually are.

Scared of what? Duke is better than KU, and you know it. The only thing we will learn tomorrow is that, #4 is better than #5. If Duke were playing MSU or UK, then we would know the ceiling for Duke. You do whatever it takes to make yourself feel that the game is bigger than what it is! LOL!

Kansas will be hard pressed to come up with a defense to handle Duke's free-flowing, no position offense for 40 minutes. Same would apply to Kentucky this early in the season. Michigan State and Duke will be 1 and 2 next week, in no particular order.

K keeps his vets. Ok, two seniors, Hairston, and Thornton. I wonder why they came back for there senior year? K's teams usually win in March, not November. Didnt Duke beat Kentucky, and Ville last year in November? How did Duke do aganist Ville in March last year? The problem with Kentucky last year was Archie, and a soft point guard, plus they had all freshman. Unlike the title year when they had Jones, and Miller two seniors that can play.

Agreed. I think Duke and MSU are the legit top 2 teams. Time will tell, barring injuries what will happen.

Ok, two seniors, Hairston, and Thornton. I wonder why they came back for there senior year?

Where else would they go? Neither of them has a future in the NBA but they might play their way onto a roster in Europe. Practicing and competing against the likes of Hood and Parker everyday will prepare them for a career in Europe probably better than transferring somewhere else where they'd be starters on a below average college team. And the Duke degree and Duke connections and national exposure are the most valuable things both of them will get from going to Duke.

  • hoodwinked82 Nov 12, 2013

Agree 903. This Thornton guy just thinks he is better than what he is. i look for a few flops from him, and Hairston tonight. Heard that Hood was the best on the team last year, and he was unstoppable in practice. Love his game, and Parkers. My favorite for my Pack is Tyler Lewis. Watch out for Desmond Lee also.

thinks he is better than what he is

Where'd you get that impression? From everything I've seen and read about him, he is a great team player, does exactly what Coach K asks him to do, doesn't care whether he starts or comes off the bench and is one of the hardest workers on the team. The best on-the-ball defender on the current roster and was named captain due to all of the above.

Best on the ball defender. How does he do against athletic fast, and quick guards? (Dez Wells, Russ Smith, Shane Larkin, etc. He is a captain because he is a senior, and does has leadership skills. Not taking that from him at all. He flops, all the time. Nice elbow to Scott Wood last year. He works hard, and still cant shoot. I know he hit big shot or two in the past, but I know Duke fans that hate to see him shoot. I know you agree also that he shouldn't be starting over Suliamon!! I have always said that Cook is Duke's most important player. If he goes down please tell me that you are better with Thornton running the point?

He starts over Sulaimon because he brings some things to the beginning of the game that Coach K must not feel Sulaimon can. That doesn't mean that he gets to play all 40 minutes and Sulaimon sits on the bench the whole game wishing he was playing somewhere else... Coach K is most likely starting Sulaimon on the bench to provide some motivation for him to improve in areas that could use improvement... Clearly, Duke will be even better if Sulaimon improves his game in all areas so there is no reason to play Thornton over him with the exception of coming in as a sub to give him a break...

TJ Warren for the pack has the chance to be very very good. Agreed that Hood and Parker have incredible basketball skills and are a lot of fun to watch. Been hearing good things about Des Lee, Cat Barber, Lewis, and Warren.

  • hoodwinked82 Nov 12, 2013

Lotta of scoring on the floor if Hood, Parker, and Sulaimon are all out their together. Let Sula play starter minutes ut come off the bench and take over the scoring when either Hood or Parker are taking a break.

  • Toddler10-21 Nov 12, 2013

Can live with that 903. Crunch time Sulamon will be in there. Plus maybe K is counting on Sulamon to be the 6th man off the bench? Guess he knows what he is doing, 4 titles, who will argue with him?

Also I think Duke beat Ville in november, and Ville returned the favor in march. Keeping his vets? He had no other choice but to keep Thornton/Hairston!! Guess they would be lottery picks this year.

Not worried about this team in the LEAST! Kansas is a great team and we missed a ton of FT's and front end of 1-and-1's. Tie game with 3 minutes left. Stuff happens. It's November. We will peak later.

Parker is as advertised or BETTER!

I thought Amile Jefferson played an absolutely fantastic game as well. I know Parker is getting all of the credit, as he should get most of it, but Jefferson had a big time game. 17 points...quietly. I don't know what was up with Hood last night, he didn't look comfortable at all...credit Kansas for that some, but I think he was a little jittery. He still scored 11, but he's capable of much, much more than that.

Again, the Free Throws...they lost the game in that department in my opinion. They have to do better down low as well, but that is manageable with their personnel. Missing that many free throws and losing points by missing the front end of 1 and 1's is completely unacceptable.

Hood was guarding Wiggins most of the game and we figured he would drop a little offensively due to the burden of slowing Wiggins down. Amile was great and we just need a few things to tighten up. Hate losing, but Duke is going to be just fine.

At halftime, Self said he put a big on Jabari in the first half and knew he needed to put a smaller player on him to slow him down. Kansas has enough depth and enough of a supporting cast around Wiggins to beat anyone. Amile has always been great at what he does - staying close to the basket and being ready to catch and create close to the basket, but he wasn't needed as much when Duke had Mason last year. The great thing about him is his hands and that he won't take low percentage shots, he knows his role and knows his teammates can take the outside shots instead. He should take away alot of minutes that used to go to Hairston.
