Duke vs Kansas

You look like quite the genius after writing that.

Not worried at all. Duke is loaded and we saw a lot last night on what we need to improve on. Some years, we would have personnel that limit our ceiling. Not this year. Expect Duke to shore up any issues.

In fairness, it was Hoods first big game in nearly 2 years (if you count any games at MSU as "big").
Huge stage. Looked more timid than normal. I expect that to change with a little bit of time

For real basketball fans, this was a beauty to watch. Great game, great players and great coaching. It was fun to see the match up changes and guys stepping up for both teams. Expect to see these 2 teams going deep into March.

At halftime, Self said he put a big on Jabari in the first half and knew he needed to put a smaller player on him to slow him down. Kansas has enough depth and enough of a supporting cast around Wiggins to beat anyone. Amile has always been great at what he does - staying close to the basket and being ready to catch and create close to the basket, but he wasn't needed as much when Duke had Mason last year. The great thing about him is his hands and that he won't take low percentage shots, he knows his role and knows his teammates can take the outside shots instead. He should take away alot of minutes that used to go to Hairston.

Hood was guarding Wiggins most of the game and we figured he would drop a little offensively due to the burden of slowing Wiggins down. Amile was great and we just need a few things to tighten up. Hate losing, but Duke is going to be just fine.

I thought Amile Jefferson played an absolutely fantastic game as well. I know Parker is getting all of the credit, as he should get most of it, but Jefferson had a big time game. 17 points...quietly. I don't know what was up with Hood last night, he didn't look comfortable at all...credit Kansas for that some, but I think he was a little jittery. He still scored 11, but he's capable of much, much more than that.
Again, the Free Throws...they lost the game in that department in my opinion. They have to do better down low as well, but that is manageable with their personnel. Missing that many free throws and losing points by missing the front end of 1 and 1's is completely unacceptable.

Did you know?
This was Duke's first loss in its last 23 regular-season neutral-court games. The Blue Devils hadn't lost one since December 20, 2007, when they lost to Pittsburgh.

Kansas > dook. Dook loses and Wiggins, Parker and several from KY show why they will only play 1 year and gone.
