Nope, my sources were some former players from the Spurrier era that I ran into at the game. They have a former teammate who reports to the Athletic Director. There are alot of factors that go into who goes where in these bowl game discussions and they have everything to do with TV and ticket sales and not based on what happened on the field this season. I'm not complaining about it as Duke is going where I want them to go. (and based on all the trolling you are doing, Duke going to Atlanta has ruined your morning which is a just an added bonus)...

So in other words, your source was Laura Keeley's tweet. Lol wow the inside knowledge you have.

Yep, it was the mighty Swoff that used his power to "strongarm" the bowl commission to get Duke where he wanted them to go. I don't think my source was totally out of left field though since Laura Keeley was tweeting Orlando...

Those of us that did the right thing and ordered thru Duke to help Duke's ticket presale allotment numbers are going to pay face price to sit in the endzone when we could have done the wrong thing (go thru stubhub and hurt the school's ticket sales) and sit on the 30 yard line for 1/2 of what we are paying.

your inside source did not trust that Swofford had Duke's back on this.

glad my source was wrong. he is a former player from spurrier's 89 team that got his info from someone in the AD's office. i suspect that duke took the steps necessary to secure the best bowl they could, we all know how these things work - $$$...

    well I bought 3

you may be right about going to the Russell Athletic bowl, but it won't be about ticket sales. The Chick Fil A bowl is sold out months in advance, they don't need ticket sales. It is sold out way before they even know who is playing in it.

Wasn't last year's game in Charlotte, and didn't Duke buy up those tickets and give them to the students? I remember I got one with a pizza I ordered from Dominos.

    Duke sold 25000 last year

https://twitter.com/laurakeeley/status/409755938913267712If Duke football had fans worthy of their Coach and Program, we'd be heading to the Chick-Fil-A bowl.

Inside sources told me last night that Chick-Fil-A didn't take Duke because they wouldn't be able to sell 17,000 tickets...
