New Forum Layout

I've found a bunch of "bugs" or "annoyances" so far with this new layout. I think everyone is on the "new" layout now. Be sure to use the Feedback Button over there ---->>>
I've requested multiple improvements...it's not very streamlined...and not having and edit function is dumb. Add functionality, don't remove it!

Same old layout here.

Oh, the new one starts on Wednesday. Sorry.

And they don't even have the bugs out. Great.

Not even close...I've been reporting them like crazy...maybe 3-4 of them have been fixed...

This site has technically been deteriorating over the last couple of years. On top of all the obvious things, their push for ever-more-intrusive advertising has recently become much worse. The latest problem affecting me involves "use" of the iPhone on wral sites. Some of the aggressive ads will switch from the iPhone Safari browser directly to the Apple AppStore, positioned to download / buy some game or the other. Sometimes keeps happening every few seconds, even with no action on my part. The ad "image" is really a complex program of many thousands of lines, much of it designed to circumvent privacy and security settings.
Maybe the new version will kill off the few non-trolls who still post about sports. Probably leave just the paid trolls hired by Pope and Koch brothers still posting in political areas.

No way this thing is ready by Wednesday. There's so many little nuances and glitches. I'm glad I've been using it so I'm used to it and know what they are, but still it's very annoying. Simple coding issues is all it is.
Some times the comment box is on the bottom, other times it's at the top. Sometimes page numbers for a topic are displayed, other times the button Newest / oldest is displayed, but watch out...when you select one, it doesn't appear you can change it back regardless of what topic you're on.
Note to WRAL Moderators - Don't make it live, fix all the bugs first.

I forgot to mention that the problems I have using the iPhone sometimes cause the loss of whatever I had been trying to post. I have similar issues on Mac and PCs and Linux where I have had to re-enter what I was posting, but those are much less frequent.
Not up to DHHS quality yet.

Android here and none of those problems. In fact, I don't recall having those problems on our ipads either.

The ads are using an Apple option that is normally used on the iPhone, iPad, etc. to switch from the web version to a specific application if one exists, including the option of getting the app through the AppStore. These particular ads send you to the AppStore without you doing anything, not even clicking on the ad. The ads are being rotated through, usually being displayed near the bottom of the page. The code embedded in the ad is being execute when the ad displays and periodically thereafter, even when the ad us not currently being displayed.
A related problem involves ads when place a transparent overlay on top of the entire web page so they can intercept mouse and keyboard actions and this track everything the user does on the site. Spyware. Many of these on PCs have used Flash. We are now seeing these routinely that target iPhone and Android systems. A common effect seen with these us that "focus" is lost and the screen seems to lock up.
