............meanwhile his former college team was busy dismantling the Miami team who earlier this year curbstomped carolina at carolina's own Three Rivers Stadium.

By the way has any ACC team won less conference games than carolina so far this year.

The hiney-pain displayed by the boy tonight is of epic proportions. He just can't bear to think that kerliner is finally the scum of the ACC literally and figuratively.

    Meanwhile in Los Angles

    JJ Redick - 15 pts
    Gerald Henderson - 13 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast
    Josh McRoberts - 13 pts, 8 rebs, 5 ast
    Antawn Jamison - DNP CD
    Reggie Bullock - DNP CD

    In Chicago -
    Mike Dunleavy - 22 pts, 4 ast
    Loul Deng - 11 pts, 5 reb Kyrie Irving - 26 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast

    In Dallas - Wayne Ellington - 0 pts, 1 reb Vince Carter - 8 pts, 4 ast

In NY - Ray Felton - 9 pts, 7 ast

In Phoenix - Miles Plumlee - 11 pts, 7 rebs

So the top 4 scorers from Duke or UNC last night were all Dukies. 4 out of the top 5 rebounders were Dukies. 4 out of the top 6 assist men were Dukies. In other words... just another night in the NBA.

Actually, the denials and deflections are these lame efforts to look at individual players rather than what is going on with all the players each school has in the league. Understandable on your part because the big picture isn't really pretty.

Oh, and Singler's doing just fine. His numbers are as good or better than several of the Heels in the league.

  • ClassyHill Jan 23, 2014

So this is the "ceiling" for an NBA dookie? This is the goal?

"Just do better than several of the Heels"????

    That's sad. But we understand.

Nothing wrong with having a solid role player career in the NBA. I know Wayne Ellington would be killing right now to be playing as well as Singler. He certainly has to be envious of what his old HS teammate Gerald Henderson is doing. Ellington was ranked a little higher coming out of HS, both guys played 3 years in college, and now Henderson is putting up 15 ppg while Wayne is averaging 3 ppg.

BTW - the ceiling for a Dukie in the NBA appears to be starting in the All Star game like Kyrie Irving, something no Tar Heel who entered the league in the last decade has done.

Not at all. And you sound even sillier for saying that.

We are just making a comparison to other players that you might know of.

Kind of stupid to make a comparison between a Duke player and an Oregon player to a UNC fan, Dont you think?

You have gotten so abused on these boards the last few days you cant even think straight.

And yet in the last 15 years role-player U has produced better pros than UNC.

Maybe Ty Lawson can make the All-Star game next week and give you guys the first selection to have played at UNC in the last 14 years. Or maybe he won't and the count will be at 4 All-Stars Duke has put in the league in the last 14 years to uh.... zero to have come out of UNC in that time.

  • kato_karma3.3 Jan 24, 2014

In the past 15-years, the best pro dook has had in a uniform wouldn't even make UNC's top 10...

So Elton Brand, Carlos Boozer, Shane Battier, Kyrie Irving, Luol Deng or Mike Dunleavy would not make UNC's top 10.

I am sure there are others, might want to check the stats and salary values.

I think the NBa experst disagree with you.

Sure, you had a great run with Dean back in the day and you can hold tightly to that. But since he left and starting with the 1999 draft going forward the quality of the pros produced by both schools greatly favors Duke and the quality of players in the league right now isn't even close.

6 out of the top 7 scorers in the league from both schools are Dukies.
4 out of the top 5 rebounders in the league from both schools are Dukies.
7 out of the top 11 assist men in the league from both schools are Dukies.
The best shooting guard in the league from both schools is a Dukie (Henderson or Redick).
The best small forward in the league from both schools is a Dukie (Deng).
The best power forward in the league from both schools is a Dukie (Boozer).
The best center in the league from both schools is a Dukie (Miles Plumlee). The only position up for debate is PG where Irving is averaging 21.7p/3r/6.1a to Lawson's 17.8/3/8.9.

Your past was terrific. Your now isn't so hot. And the gap is going to widen... Duke has Parker projected as a top 5 pick and Hood as a late lottery pick while PJ Hairston is forecast as a late lottery pick all in next year's draft. Next year Duke brings in 3 top 10 recruits (Scout rankings) while you bring in 1.

You should go read an Art Chansky book or something because what's going on right now can't be too fun for you.

Last I saw, Irving still has the word "Duke" after his name in his bio and despite the fact that he was hurt for much of the season he was still there learning from K. Plus, 11 games with K gets you as much knowledge as a lifetime with Ol' Roy.

As for sniffing the playoffs, not a whole lot of guys can carry a team to the playoffs without any help. In the two drafts since landing Irving the Cavs have ended up with 4 first round picks and other than Dion Waiters the rest have been guys who give them nothing. Guys like... Tyler Zeller.

That would be 3 more points than Antawn Jamison, Wayne Ellington, and Reggie Bullock scored combined.

And if those numbers look bad to the Pistons just imagine how the Warriors must feel after getting 2 pts, 3 rebs, and 3 turnovers out of Harrison Barnes in 23 minutes.

And just for old time's sake -

6 out of the top 8 scorers of the players from both schools last night were Dukies.
3 out of the top 5 rebounders of the players from both schools last night were Dukies.
2 out of the top 3 assist guys of the players from both schools last night were Dukies.
Out of the 221 points scored in the league last night from players from both schools 143 of them (65%) came from Dukies.
Out of the 67 rebounds grabbed by players from both schools in the league last night 39 of them (58%) came from Dukies.
Of the 53 assists dished out by players from both schools in the league last night 28 (53%) of them came from Dukies.

Good luck tomorrow against Clemson. Maybe you can get a game up in the win column on the other schools fighting it out for last place in the league.

No, I'm not upset at all by your inane postings. In fact, I rather enjoy them as it provides a frequent opportunity to show how much better Duke players are performing in the league than their Heel counterparts. It's amusing to watch you pick out a bad stat line from a Duke guy and ignore the fact that the line is actually much better than several Heels in the league and that overall your guys just can't keep up.

I do have to give you credit for being completely oblivious to how bad you look. Most people would stop touching the stove after getting burnt the first dozen times but you just keep trudging forward and pretend that you've accomplished something beyond being message board cannon fodder.
