This was by FAR the best game I've seen all season; I didn't want it to end! Both teams played their hearts out, and I know it's cliché, but it's a shame one team had to lose. At least two calls at the end were iffy at best, and could have cost Duke the win. I do expect Duke to win the rematch. Duke did NOT look like the #17 team playing the #2 (current #1) team; they played a spectacular game, and no matter what was thrown at them, they managed to survive and even take a brief lead in OT.

@ TIZU: I think that was one call the refs did get right - don't think it was a flagrant - Thornton appeared to fall into the Syracuse player, and when you think about it, most all fouls at the end of the game are intentional by the team who is behind.

Great game - what a treat to watch!

This game was what Marked said it was...Epic. I live in a family of mostly Tar Heel fans and we were all watching it together at my parents house (only them, myself + wife are Duke fans). I'm not going to make any excuses, I honestly didn't expect Duke to even have a chance at a winning shot / tie, etc...especially not in OT when 2 of their best players were fouled out of the game.

That being said, my brothers and sisters who are HUGE UNC fans had a problem with the way the game was being called. I understand playing the zone, typically, you don't get many fouls called...but when some blatant fouls are called for one team but not the other and UNC fans are screaming about how bad the calls were...you know it's bad. Did Duke foul a lot? Yes they did, and for the record, I thought the hard foul close to the end of the game should have been a Flagrant 1 (Thornton pushed the guy in the back).

Either way, other than the fouls, I was very pleased Duke was even in this game. I honestly expected Duke to lose by double digits. The fact that they played with so much heart and will was a thing of beauty to watch. Great game between great teams and HOF coaches.

Re-match in Cameron in 3 weeks I hope Duke is on the winning end of that one.

    Epic game, indeed!

True. And if dook was able to play a zone defense they would not have had as much foul problems.

Yeah, true. The shot Suliamon took at the end of regulation was stone cold...it does appear that K does not have control of Parker or Jefferson based on what the camera picked up...Jeffereson's outburst caught on camera may result in a call from the NCAA/ACC offices, we will see...does Syracuse know how to play man to man... there are times you need it, IMHTHO, but they seem unprepared to play it,

Duke had an answer for everything that Syracuse threw at them tonight except that Hess fellow. Duke just had no answer for him. :)

Hopefully Dook used up their 3 point magic for a while. Epic game.
