For mock draft nba articles, Go read Bleacher Report, SB Nation, Hoops Hype, Draft Express and a bunch others who warn me off from summarizing using their content. I despise, loath, hate and abhor lawyers. There is not a lot of agreement in the mock drafts and some are wild.

The Deseret News is reporting Frank Jackson has just undergone surgery for a "stress reaction" in his right foot. This will leave Jackson sidelined wherever he winds up until July. The injury is supposed to have occurred while Jackson was playing at Duke, but he John Wayned it and played through the pain.

Mohamed Bamba is joinin Shaka at Texas. This goes to prove what I have said. The Blue Devils need to hire Brad Stevens, get him hooked up with USA Basketball and start getting all the youngsters they want.

Kentucky has PJ Washington, the number 3 PF recruit in 2017. They also have Jarred Vanderbuilt, the # 4 PF recruit in 2017. They have Wenyen Gabrie, last year's number 4 PF. Bamba is this years #2 PF recruit, so that would be a lot of PFs seeking minutes. And Nick Richards, the 2017 #3 C will also be looking to play. Knox says he wants to play SG, Nobody knows if Hamidou Diallo will return to the Wildcats as a SG. Kentucky does not have the best PG corps, so maybe Calipai will have some sort of point/shooting guard player to play with all of his bigs. Meanwhile at Duke, Bolden, Carter and Tucker are all highly touted bigs lookin to play...and share minutes with Duval, Allen, and Trent who all can flat out score. Maybe Bamba will wind up at Texas with Shaka. Or maybe he recognizes the value of a Duke Diploma. You could be right, I could be right, lots of others could be right!

...but even the UK recruiting gurus admit that they've had no communication with Bamba and therefore aren't confident in any of their predictions... Bamba's supposedly a true student and would not be surprised if K pulls some magic and gets him to come to Duke...

Several articles saying Calipari smugly stating he has one more big piece to his recruiting class, implying it will be Mohamed Bamba. Texas is supposed to be in second place based upon Shaka Smart's coaching of Bamba on the US U-18 team. Duke is supposed to be out of the running now as is Michigan.

Trevon Duval committed to the Blue Devils about 3 hours ago this morning. Duval pushing the ball up the middle, dishing to SGs Trent and Allen, Bigs will be Carter at PF, Bolden at C, Tucker in the mix at SF ought to make a pretty go offense. If Bolden and Carter can destroy on D around the rim and cover the corners, and Duval and Trent can play mean at the guard spot, it could be a really great year for Duke. Allen will need to 1, get his head on straight, 2, get his legs healed, 3, learn to go to his left and score, and 4, play D.

I have read on the Kentucky Wildcat site that Kevin Knox told Calipari he wanted to play SG, that Calipari said yes, and that is why Knox went to Kentucky in lieu of Duke. That falls under the category of things that make you go hmmmm.

Jordan Tucker is a verbal commit to Duke as of about 8 hours ago. 247 Sports has the incoming class ranked as # 3 with two 5*s, two 4*s, and 1 3*. Kentucky is number 1 with six 5*s, two 4*s amd zero 3*s. CBS has Duke ranked #9 preseason for 2017-2018. "Cuse was counting on Tucker coming to them and playing in the airplane maintenance hanger they call their home court.

Yep. I just read he had knee issues in late March and ankle issues in mid-April. It is pretty key that K gets him, and he gets his legs fixed up. So we wind up with Bolden and Carter as bigs. I am pretty sure Bamba is not coming. If we have Duval playing PG in the middle and some combination of Trent, Allen, O'Connell and maybe Jackson as SGs out on the wings, we still will do well. Probably not Number 1 well, but well. And once again K will not have a bench other than at SG.

For the 2018-2019 season recruiting effort, Duke currently has offers out to PGs Darius Garland (no 3) and Tre Jones (no 4), SG Romeo Langford (no 6), SFs Cameron Reddish (no 1) and Zion Williamson (no 5), PFs Marvin Bagley III (no 1) and Emmitt Williams (no 9), and Center David McCormack (no 4). I scout for nobody, I just read and study. Bamba is a high school player and has not played game 1 yet in the NCAA. He is the number 2 ranked center and is 7 feet tall and weighs but 216. He is from Harlem and plays for the PSA Cardinals. I expect he will go to UK and play for Calipari, although Duke is in the running. Duke currently has 6'10, 255 lb PF Wendell Carter, Jr.'s signed LOI. He is the number 1 ranked PF and the overall number 1 ranked incoming freshman. They have 6'11', 245 lb sophomore center Marques Bolden returning. He was last year's number 1 ranked center. They are in the running to sign on SF Kevin Knox. He is 6'9" and 206 pounds and K wants him to replace Tatum. So if they get PG Duval and SF Knox, and Jackson returns, they are gonna be a pre-season ACC and NCAA number 1. IF is important thing to keep remembering. And injuries.

picture this: 3 guards and 2 bigs, PG Duval in the middle of SGs Trent and Jackson with Carter and Knox as bigs. Allen and O'Connell off the bench to give a breather to Trent and Jackson. Bolden, Vrank and DeLaurier available to spell the bigs, or to provide a 3rd big if K wants to go that way. And Frank Jackson is the only Duke guard that reminds me of Wojo. He could be the next floor slapper; he is athletic as all heck, aggressive as all heck, and extreme in his confidence. But he ain't ready for the NBA this coming season.

The combine is 9-14May in Chicago. Some of the stars of the ACC have already been told they were not good enough to be a candidate for the draft or did not receive one of the 60 plus invites to the combine and have returned to their teams. Frank Jackson continues to hold out hope. Marquelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Dennis Smith, Jr., Frank Ntilakina, De'Aaron Fox, Monte Morris, Frank Mason III, are the PGs I see in first round projections. Malik Monk, Donovan Mitchell, Sindarius Thornwell and Luke Kennard are the SGs I see in first round projections. I saw Frank Jackson in the late second round a while ago, but nowhere recently. It will take an enormous performance in the combine 5 v 5s for him to make it. I really think he needs to come back (there's only 25% selfishness in my eval) to Duke and become a pure SG and a lock down defender.

K just got a verbal commit from a 2star point guard named Jordan Goldwire. I wonder if that means Jackson will not be back and they are getting a backup plan together because Duvall is going elsewhere. I don't see giving a scholarship to a 2star recruit as a step in the right direction. There is a reason the Duke bench is shallow.

re Knox" UK have no SF. PF Adebayo will sign with an agent so he is gone. Leaves UK 5PFs and attempting to sign Bamba to make it 6, and they have a center. UNC may have 2SFs if Pinson returns. They may have 5PFs if Bradley returns. And they have a really short center. re Bamba: UK would have 6PFs if Bamba signs and a center who is 1 inch shorter and 35 pounds heavier. They also have a group of guards whose total is confusing due to all the redshirting. Perhaps the current 2 news PFs could switch to SF. Duke has Carter who is #1 rated. Bamba is #2. That could be a crushing Front Court with Belden spelling them, and 1 great PG and 2 sets of quality SGs. Michigan and Texas both have room for Bamba. re Duvall: Kansas would have 4PGs, 4SGs, and about 3 bigs, unless they also got Knox. Baylor would have 3PGS, 4SGs, 3SFs, 4PFs and a C. Duke would have 1PG, 4SGs, 4PFs and 2Cs. K has 4 open spots, 3 offers. ESPN rumor Jackson will declare for NBADraft but hire no agent.

Old Roy set up a personal visit with Kevin Knox for 4:15-6:00. I am not finding much at all for K and his staff visiting Knox. Small forward is wide open for Duke. Nobody on the current team to fight for minutes. Trevon Duval ought to be an easy sale, since Allen and Jackson are shooting guards, but then so are Trent and O'Connell. Duke could play full time in transition with Duval at PG, Jackson and Trent at SG, Knox at SF and either Bolden or Carter at Big and Bamba too if K could get him. Then Allen and O'Connell could replace Jackson and Trent at SG, and the bigs could move around. One thing. Actually 3 things. K needs to turn Jackson into the reincarnation of Wojo, Bolden into Christian Laettner ( I have watched the few moments of Bolden and he is grinning too much and not looking cruel enough), and teach Allen to defend and go to his left and shoot left handed.

SB Nation is saying Duval will go to Arizona because of sharing time/position with Jackson and Allen. They say Bamba will go to Kentucky because of K only playing one big at a time, and Carter is coming and Bolden is staying (I was 100% wrong on Bolden departing). And finally, SBNation saysKevin Knox is considering UNC but is tending towards Duke. 247Sports gives Duke the edge on Duval, Kentucky the edge on Bamaba, and Duke the edge on Knox. I hope K and his minions get busy recruiting. or the cupboard will be bare.

Please read what I posted for this year's sophomores playing time environment due to next year's freshman commits and possibilities. It applies to these men, too.
Duval and Knox were recruited live by K on 21MAR. Both are supposed to be leaning towards Duke. But they are young men, and UNC, AZ, KU and UK still have a chance to be #1 in the Tournament. Bamba is supposed to favor UK.
Bolden-did not live up to his ratings. Carter is almost his size. He goes, K gets a slot.
Robinson-minimal playing time after redshirt season. I bet the Admiral wants him to get a Duke education. He stays.
DeLaurier-not a lot, but not bad for a 4* recruit at Duke. He stays.
GilesIII-not bad start, lots of fouls, fair rebounding. 1 more knee tear ends his career. He goes, K gets a slot.
White-few fouls, points, few impacts on D. He stays. Jackson-needs more work as a point guard. Aggressive D, could be the next floor slapping "WOJO" . K could play with 3 guards. He stays. K should get 2 slots.
