Durham, N.C. — Blue Devil sophomore Chloe Wells will not be enrolled at Duke University for the spring 2012 semester due to violation of university policy.
A native of Colton, Calif., Wells had started the first 10 games for the Blue Devils averaging 10.4 points, 4.0 assists, 3.6 steals and 2.1 rebounds. The 5-7 guard scored double-figures in eight of the 10 contests she played in.
“We love Chloe and she is a valuable member of the Duke women’s basketball family,” said head coach Joanne P. McCallie. “I look forward to her returning to full eligibility for the 2012-13 campaign.”
Seventh-ranked Duke (12-2, 3-0 ACC) will next host Florida State on Friday, Jan. 13 in a contest that will be aired live on the Regional Sports Network (RSN-TV).
