Former Blue Devil standouts Kevin Streelman and Joe Ogilvie each advanced through sectional qualifying on June 4 and will be in the field for next week's U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. (June 11-17).

Streelman fired a four-under 137 at Scioto Country Club and OSU Scarlett Course to finish tied for third at the Columbus Sectional and advanced to his third U.S. Open (2012, 2011, 2008). After posting a one-over 71 in the morning round at Scioto CC, he posted a five-under 66 on the Ohio State Scarlett Course in the second round. Streelman opened with six birdies over the first nine holes of play, including four straight birdies (No. 4-7) at one point. His 66 was the second-lowest round on the course behind a 65 recorded by medalist Charlie Wi in the morning round.

Streelman earned one of 16 spots out of the 132-player field that featured several PGA Tour regulars including Charlie Wi, D.A. Points, Davis Love III, Ryan Moore, Ben Curtis, Vaughn Taylor, Ryuji Imada, Spencer Levin, Rory Sabbatini, Chris DiMarco, Stuart Appleby, Bryce Molder, Ricky Barnes, Charley Hoffman, Rocco Mediate and Camilo Villegas.

Ogilvie posted an eight-under 134 to finish tied for second at the Germantown Country Club Sectional Qualifier to advance to his fifth U.S. Open (2012, 2008, 2005, 2004, 2003).

He carded four birdies, 13 pars and one bogey during the morning round en route to a three-under 68. Ogilvie came back in the second round with a five-under 66. He opened with a birdie on No. 1 and added birdies on No. 4, No. 6, No. 11 and No. 12 to climb up the leaderboard. Ogilvie suffered his lone bogey of the round on No. 13 before closing with a birdie on No. 18 to secure one of nine spots in the 84-player field.

Congratulations to another set of Duke's world-class athletes. Of course, UNC fans could care less since they aren't men's basketball, football or baseball athletes.
