Duke redshirt senior Brian Moore has been tabbed to the 51-member Rimington Trophy Watch List. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the top center in college football.

A 6-2, 285-pound native of Coral Gables, Fla., Moore missed the first six weeks of the 2011 campaign after suffering a broken arm in August. He returned to the lineup for three games, but re-injured the arm in week nine against Miami and was forced to sit out the remainder of the season.

Moore started 24 straight games at right guard for the Blue Devils during the 2009 and 2010 seasons before transitioning to center in the spring of 2011. A two-time selection to the Academic All-ACC team, he ranks tied for fourth among active ACC offensive linemen with 27 career starting assignments.

Moore is one of five centers from the ACC on the list, joining Georgia Tech’s Jay Finch, Clemson’s Dalton Freeman, Virginia Tech’s Andrew Miller and N.C. State’s Camden Wentz.

Since its inception, the Rimington Trophy has raised over $2 million. The 13-year old award is overseen by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and has raised over $100 million for CF Research.

Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only double winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman. The Blue Devils open the 2012 season with a home contest against FIU on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m.
