Curry hype comes to Durham to stay, in form of younger brother
By Tim Hall Mar 31, 2009
Soon to be Blue Devil Seth Curry will have a lot to live up to when he begins his basketball career in a Duke uniform.
He follows in the footsteps of his father Dell, who had a long successful NBA career after playing at Virginia Tech, and his older brother. Stephen led Davidson to the Elite Eight a year ago. This year he leads the nation in scoring and is on the AP All-America first team.
Seth got off to a good start at Liberty (Virginia) where he lead the nation's freshmen in scoring average with 20.2 points per game. He decided after one season he was ready for a higher level of competition. Even after a solid freshmen season at the small Big South school the question remains, will Seth live up to the hype created by his brother?
"They're just different people and different players and they both have a similar knowledge of the game that separates them from a lot of college players," Liberty Head Coach Ritchie McKay said on 99.9 The Fan's Sports Lunch with Mike Maniscalco. "Seth is his own person and he wants to make his own name for himself, and he's really driven."
Chris Lang, the team's beat reporter for the Lynchburg News & Advance said Monday on The Fan that without question much of Seth's notoriety has come from the buzz Stephen created with his great play at Davidson. The attention wouldn't be as great on Seth's transfer to Duke without the big brother. But Coach McKay insists that Seth is the real deal.
"Duke is getting a player who can score in a variety of ways, and is just a dog competitor," he said. "One thing about him is he might be slight of build, but he's got a huge heart and an incredible amount of determination to get the job done.....he's going to be a tough one to stop."
Seth will be eligible to play beginning in the 2010-11 season. He will have three remaining years of eligibility. Stephen Curry will be making a decision soon on entering the NBA draft. Players have until April 30 to decide but father Dell Curry said he won't wait that long.

This is a good thing. Maybe the 09-10 season will be better than 09..But, at any rate the true Dukies will still be there cheering them on,without any whining I might add.
As always.........GO DUKE

^^"Hey Coach K knows talent when he sees it"
Ummmmmmmm.......I beg to differ. Paulus, Zoubek, Shav, McRoberts, Pocius, Boateng, Boykins, the list goes on and on.......
And at the end of the day he still has MORE NC rings than any other KaraWHINA coach... I BEG to differ...
