App State to CUSA?
It appears App State told a recruit they are going to be in CUSA in two years after UCF, UH, and SMU leave.

RE: App State to CUSA?
Well there will be a vacant spot as La. Tech has asked if they can join C-USA also
RE: App State to CUSA?
This would be interesting.
RE: App State to CUSA?
They better hurry while there's still a C-USA to join.
RE: App State to CUSA?
ASU needs to stay where they are right now. I don't see them improving much at all in leaving the present Conference.
RE: App State to CUSA?
These days, two years is too far out to predict who will be in what conference.

Agree once again Ken. Too many virables. Too many changes in personnel at so many schools too. ASU needs to stay put.
RE: App State to CUSA?
Maybe they are planning on the merged league going to 24 teams. Once they go past their current 16 schools, App State is as good as most that are left even with 22 fewer scholarships. And thanks to the name recognition they have for beating Michigan in the Big House, they bring some notoriety to the table.
But I hope they could get into an 18 team league, which I think makes more sense. Add Louisiana Tech, which has said it wanted in to C-USA and transfer UTEP (which is in the Mountain time zone) to the west and you are there. No need for eastern schools to play the western ones except in a championship game.
RE: App State to CUSA?
Well I think ECU needs some regional opponents and ASU would go a long way in doing that. The merged CUSA/MWC will be heavy on the west side with only UAB, ECU and Marshall in the eastern time zone. If they go to a 24 team league with four pods of six teams each that would help a lot. The Atlantic pod could be ECU, ASU, Marshall, FIU, Charlotte, and Temple. On the negative side if ASU and the now forming UNCC both become FBS that gives the state seven major college football programs. That splits up the football recruit pie into a lot of slices.
RE: App State to CUSA?
Lazydawg Why/how can Charlotte come into a conference with no staduim,no players and never played a home game? Maybe in a few years (5-6) but first they need to work their way up the college football ranks

All subject to ESPN and other network's approval, of course.
